I have a TL100. Back during the cold days (teens) of December. I noticed that I was having what sounded like a dry start (no residual oil.)
Changed the oil and new filter but had same problem. Called mechanic; who no showed... (another story.) Checked everything that could be checked visually and nothing; however, problem continues. Finally realized that after sitting I had extra oil in pan (about a quart) and about a tablespoon drained from filter. Found new mechanic. Pulled oil line to dummy gauge and checked pressure on start up. Zero oil pressure for about 4-5 seconds then moves on up quickly.
I (we) have spoken to three dealerships and all seem not concerned but I am still getting a somewhat dry start even though temps are warm. Last dealer suggested oil filter could be problem. Got a new New Holland and today at start up same thing except this time the STOP engine light came on. I shut down and cranked back up and by this time pressure was up to normal and all sounds fine and no light. After pressure builds engine runs well and no smoke. If I throttle up at start up it clears quicker but not sure if this is bad or good for engine(?)
I know this is causing damage but I cannot get anyone to point us in a possible direction. Any assistance appreciated (I am not a mechanic but I have a couple ideas but no one can confirm that I am on the right tract)
