Titan rototiller, any opinions/experiences?

Well, my "free" disc finally found it's way home to the owner and now I need to get something to replace it. I was thinking of getting another disc but most of my work is small scale, I can't get the disc really rolling anyway and my biggest plot is maybe 1/2 an acre, so was thinking of going with a tiller instead. I see Titan is having a sale and wondered if anyone had an experience with their tillers?

Pretty heavy, looks well built, and a bit cheaper than the other options I'm looking at. Still expensive enough that I want to get something that will last though!

The Titan at $1775 may be good...but...

Agri-Supply (1-800-345-0169) has the Italian made 72" Caroni tiller for $1649.

Caroni equipment has a very good reputation, and Agri-Supply is a first class company!

Since you live in SC, sales tax might be an issue, though you might be able to pick up from Agri-Supply, and avoid shipping cost. Unfortunately, nearest Agri-Supply seems to be in either Florence, SC. or Garner, NC. (3 hours away?).

Can't comment on the Titan brand since have never seen one. Mine is a Bush Hog RT72G & was $1850 for reference. From looking at link, they seem pretty similar, but mine has 54 tines. 9x6 configuration vs 7x6. If that matters at all, I have no idea. Just from the pics, the skis on mine seem a little thicker and have a long flat on the bottom. The sheetmetal around the gearbox cover looks to be done better and the fill is at 12 o'clock vs on an angle with the Titan. And the BH orange matches the Kioti pretty well

I will say I'm very happy with mine and how well it can turn my orange clay soil into powder in one pass.

You're about 1.5 hrs from me - welcome to check mine out if you want & happen to be up this way for something.

Man, where did you get the BH for that price? I'm seeing about 2500 for that machine, which does look nice, but if that's the best price I can get, it's close to 1000 more..

Reedy Creek Equipment, Lexington, NC. Bought at same time as tractor so I'm sure he cut me a good break on price.

$2500 vs $1775 I'd be inclined to go with the Titan or other too. @ $1850 would go with mine

Oddly, I just looked up TSC to see how much theirs is - $2200 - but it looks awfully similar to mine. Wonder if whoever makes the county line make the BH ones too?

I paid $2200 for my Bush Hog RT72G. It's a great machine and personally would not trade it for the Titan. That's not to say the Titan is a bad machine though, I'm just going with what I've seen.
