Kioti CK2610
All,

New to the forum and new to tractors. We just purchased a Kioti CK 2610 tractor and along with it a Titan Implements (now Iron Craft, made in TN) 48" Single Cylinder Economy Root Grapple. After researching tractors and grapples for weeks I decided to get this grapple because the local dealer carries them and we are in Tennessee.

I seriously considered the MLT equivalent because it has a middle tine and zerks fittings for the hinges. The deciding factor was a number of delivery logistic issues.

I suppose if I need a middle tine I can weld one on, but I'm wondering if the hinges on the Titan will become an issue down the road? Of course I can add some grease around the hinge point, but the lack of a greasable hinge has me a little concerned. Our intended use is to move brush, tree limbs, land maintenance, nothing too extreme.

Any user experience regarding longevity or other maintenance issues on the Titan Implement would be interesting to hear about.

Thanks,
Lou

Yeah, the lack of grease fittings would worry me too. I know there is a way to add grease fittings at those hinges. I have never done it but someone will be along to give you more info I am sure. I have the MTL grapple you are speaking of and I love it!

You could look for bolts with grease fittings to replace the existing lid bolts. Or make them. A small hole in the center of the bolt won't weaken it much.

Thanks for the replies. Hadn't though of bolts with grease fittings, great idea!

I've added grease zerks to hinges. You drill down thru the hinge - thread the drilled hole - screw in a zerk. If you can - remove the hinge pin before you drill. Makes drilling the hole easier and won't score the pin.

Actually - if you can remove the hinge pin - forget the zerk. Just pull the hinge pin - liberally grease the hinge hole & pin - reassemble.

Thanks, I think I'll just grease it up well and see how it does. Appreciate the reply

Lou - that Iron Craft single cylinder grapple should serve you well. I went to the site and looked at it. They are a tad light on exacting specs but the pictures show a well made unit.

Just remember - it's a grapple on a tractor - not a heavy duty blade on a bull dozer.
