Looking at the Titan BX42 Chipper:
'Titan Wood Chipper 3 point attachment Tractor PTO 4"x10" Automatic Tree Brush'

It looks like it is made of the same parts, as the Wallenstein BX42s, which is $1000+ more expensive than the Titan.
'Wallenstein BXS Series 3 Point Hitch Wood Chippers (BX32S, BX42S, BX62S, BX92S) - Wallenstein Outdoor Power Equipment Made in Canada'

Has anyone compared them or know anything about this?
The descriptions look to be similar and the weight is the same.

I will be using a John Deere 2210 so the small chipper is ideal.
Thanks!

I have the Wallenstein BX42 and it looks exactly the same as the Titan you linked to. Weight even the same, so only way it could be made cheaper would be inside with bearings and driveline parts maybe, ..........maybe it is the same unit just distributed thru Titan (I see on one link to Wallenstein the BX42 is not shown , Canadian link versus USA link) I do suspect that maybe you got price wrong on the Wallenstein, (maybe currency difference ) because they are not 1000 more unless you were pricing the hydraulic feed version. Otherwise if all the same it is a great deal you quoted, and I am Canadian so hate to see that major difference in price.

So far my local dealer has quoted $2900.00, out the door, for the Wallenstein BX32s here in Vermont. He has not answered me about the Wallenstein BX42s yet but I would think it be more expensive than the Wallenstein BX32s.
Titan has not answered why it is so much less and maybe they won't, if there is something to hide or lesser quality. I am hoping that removing the local dealer is why it is less expensive.

Here is a site with the Wallenstein BX42s at $3,449.99 -- Wallenstein BX42S-GREEN 4-Inch 540-1000 RPM PTO Chipper

Response from Ray at Titan "We do have very slim profit margins on our products and rely heavily on volume. The products will be virtually identical in every aspect."
That sounds like good news! :licking:
Looks like I will be ordering from Titan next week.

Seems to me that "chipper direct " contact is not priced too well , a quick google search here in Ontario shows 2692 USD , and I paid less than that Canadian a few years ago ($2400) from my local John Deere Kubota dealer...............but either way you seem to have found a good price, just your benchmark of Wallenstein provider is a high priced to begin with.

I believe the Titan is a Chinese knockoff -- saw the same exact chipper under other brand names in the past. It's definitely not exclusive to Titan. We even had a thread with pictures from the Chinese factory here on TBN (I can't find it, but maybe someone else remembers; I'll keep looking).

To be honest, I would expect it to be a LOT lower cost than the Wallensteing, not just $1000 lower. It looks like a good deal in comparison, but I am sure these guys are making a hefty profit.

Be careful -- I'd rather put the money into the real thing if it was me.

Look at post #13 here:

Hi, I think I can give you a best answer for this question.
I m the manufacturer in China, that factory which sell wood chipper to value leader, it is in my city, and I produce same products as them.

Yes, this model copy from Wallenstein BX42, many factory produce this here. please everyone don't attack me, this is not my fault, I respect intellectual property right always.

I would remind you that this model is not with self-feeding system, it need you to push it into chipper if wood is 4" or with too many branch. as you said that you don't want to do physical labor like used to, so I think you can consider about those chipper with self-feeding. 6" Wood Chipper/Shredder - Value Leader Implements
value leader also sell these mechanical self-feeding chipper. I think they are enough for your 2 acre wood land work.

And you need a electric motor saw.

Titan is a DISTRIBUTOR, NOT a manufacturer. I have two SSQA mount plates from them. I'd buy the product made in USA or Canada, even if more $ initially.
DR Power also sells 3PT chippers. I bought one, then returned it, unused- only because I didn't think I'd use it as much as I thought when I bought it.:confused3:

Here's a link, (with post #3 user) has the 42 Wallenstein you refer to...

Good research S219...........it did not make sense to me either, but Chinese knockoff makes sense, and so then the original poster will need to be concerned about bearings, driveline parts and even the flywheel quality and blades. heck if something is spinning at 600 rpm that big and heavy I think I prefer it not be cheaply made.
