Ford 1620
I've just completed my installation of the Tisco top 'n' tilt kit on a Ford 1620 ( like a tc25 boomer). I originally hoped to get a factory kit but none was offered so the dealer sold me a Tisco kit complete with all the necessary hardware, or at least most of it. What I didn't get was an instruction manual. I asked the dealer to get me one and I got a one page drawing showing the port layout of the hydraulic adapter plate faxed to me. I called Tisco tech support and was repeatedly asked if I had an account with them, they didn't want to deal with me it seemed. They told me there was no instructions or parts list with this kit. I faxed a list of questions to them asking some basic stuff that they didn't bother to reply to. I called again to see if they were going to respond to my query and was brushed off again. I got it installed and it works as it should, but I had to do a lot of trial and error to get the hoses in the right places. It is not a slick installation, pretty cobbly in fact with the control box sitting on top of the fender and hoses all over the place. They should have included the hardware needed and the O-rings, but I got those at my dealer. Overall I'd say that the kit is not very well engineered and not documented at all. It works OK, but Tisco has a long way to go with their customer service. I wouldn't recommend the Tisco TnT

Looking at that, I wouldn't know where to start either. What other brands are available? I do know that woods has it available. This is something that TSC needs to start carrying.

Woods owns Tisco, I inderstand Gearmore has a kit too.

Paul, in some earlier posts, you'll find I had the same experience. I ordered the Tisco parts through a Kubota dealer and they came with absolutely no paperwork, manual, warranty slip, or anything else. And I had the wrong levers and hardware for the valve. The Kubota dealer wasn't familiar enough with the products and ordered the wrong ones. And Tisco won't talk to a customer; only to a dealer. In my particular case, the dealer gave me his code number and let me call and talk to them and get the necessary information, but only because they thought they were talking to the dealer.

So I guess they make a pretty good product, but I'd only use a Tisco product again if nothing else was available. And since Woods now owns Tisco, well . . ., I understand that they're one of the better quality manufacturers of such things as brush hogs, but I'd probably go out of my way to avoid doing business with Woods.

Incidentally, I had been to a New Holland dealer looking for components to do the TNT and told them I had heard that Tisco made such and was looking for a Tisco catalog, and the New Holland dealer told me they had quit handling any Tisco products because they "had too many problems with them." And the top link cylinder I got had a tiny pinhole leak at one of the fittings, but the Kubota dealer that got it for me paid for having it fixed locally.

I think there is a trend here, maybe Woods can beat some sense into Tisco<G>

Let's hope so. I never thought about such items coming with no paperwork; no mention of any warranty, no instructions, and from a company that won't even talk to a consumer.

TSC carries Tisco products. If you can get someone to look in the big catalog they have at their customer service counter. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif That’s where I bought my TnT cylinders.
