I am asking for help with the HV5902 adaptor plate kit from tisco to fit my 1966 3400 Ford utility. Flow patterns of the tractor and the valve would certainly help. Emails with the Tisco reps have been helpful, but I still don't understand some aspects of the connections. This plate requires an open center valve. The connection from the plate requires the pressure hose out to go to pressure in at my valve. It also has a PB port out that should connect to my PB out port at my valve. And of course Valve out to plate in, sump port. It is the PB connection that I don't understand. I must confess that I know little about PB, internal porting, etc, except that it is normally connected from an existing valve to another (open center?) valve downstream to operate additional equipment. I am looking to use a three spool valve of some sort for double acting 3pth tilt and angle control (box blade?) and have an additional spool for whatever..Any help and/or links to flow charts etc would be great!
I have been reading these posts for some time, but this is my first post asking for help. I have learned LOTS from you guys here about hydraulics. Thanks again for any help. Bill

My thoughts only.

Is fluid coming out the so called port or is it for a PB return to continue the path for high pressure.

PB port means that it is a high pressure port, in or out.

What it is probably saying is that the pump flow is flowing out the one pressure port to your valve be it a loader valve or a remote valve.

The other PB port is to feed the PB from say a remote valve back to the plate for the 3pt operation and it is a high pressure port.

The return port is to return fluid from any source to the sump/tank.

A lot of the Kubota have hyd blocks with three ports, fluid out to loader, PB from valve back to hyd block, and a return port.

You need to consider which valve has the main relief valve, It will be the first valve in the series path. This relief willl set the p ressure for your tractor.

I haven't bought the plate or a valve. I am just thinking about it. Tisco help says it can't be plugged. It just doesn't make sense to connect two PB ports as I thought they were to add additional valves. I don't want to spend a ton of money and find things won't work as I intend. I previously added a backhoe to my separate loader hydraulics simply by feeding (with QC's) from the existing pump to the hoe then back to the loader valve in series. Found NO problem with this setup except the bucket drifts down a bit with hoe use. So I leave it on the ground. I have read of some problems with series and first valve having trouble with high pressure at the tank port. I am just wanting to do the 3pt stuff with internal hydraulics and not tax the external with more functions. Thanks for the help. The more I read, hopfully the more I learn!

Did your BH have a PB out to feed the loader valve?

Did you realize that the BH became the main relief valve for the tractor, and did you check the relief pressure?

Did you tee the return lines or dump the BH return directly to tank?

In an open center hyd system, you can put whatever hyd implement in any position, first, middle of just before the 3pt.

As long as you connect the PB's correctly you are good to go as long as all the valves have the same GPM rating.

Do you have an option to reconnect everything if you remove the BH?

Truth is I know little about the valve on the BH. It is a New Holland 757c (with subframe), at least 30 years newer than the tractor (had to build frame adaptors to mount on the 3400). The book shows a PB port, plugged. The loader valve is a simple one with no PB just open center in/out. The pump is front mount independent of the tractor hydraulics. I put a QC directly into the main pump pressure line to loader valve pressure in port which sends pressure first to the BH then to and through the loader valve back to the tank (the loader frame). I plumbed it this way because I wanted the BH completely removeable (it is not used very often) and I need the tractor for other uses, such as a hydraulic powered winch I am setting up to use for logging that I will hook up the same way to the loader QC's. The QC's connect the loader back to original instantly, or easily between equipment. The info about this Ford adaptor plate is to figure out adding lower volume ( tractor is rated 5GPM) cylinders for use with the 3pt setup.

I believe I would remove any Quick disconnects from the pump circuit, unless you provide a relief valve to handle the pump flow in case of a disconnect.

To control the front mounted pump flow, either decrease the engine rpm or use a flow control valve like this.

Surplus Center - 1/2 NPT HYD FLOW CONTROL VALVE W/RELIEF RDRS150-16

Just dial in the flow you need and the rest can go to tank or another circuit.

I thank you again for your info. I have read many of your posts and learned alot. I have had no proplem running this hookup for the last three years. There is little risk of accidental disconnect as they are buried between the loader frame and the hood. If there was a problem it would likely be a blown hose due to their age, therefore little risk to the pump. Needless to say, when I do mount/dismount the BH (get under to pull/install the pins) the tractor is not running and I swap the connections all at this time. The hoses run right by the front pins from the subframe. The pump is never deadhead.
We (I) have drifted far from my original question. I was hoping to hear from someone that has used/installed the HV5902 adaptor and how well it worked. thank you for all your help and comments.
