Tires??

A friend, who knows I lurk on this site, asked me what I thought about the tires he's about to buy for his "new" used tractor- a Ford-New Holland 1320. It has dry-rotted rear tires, and he's looking at 11.2 x 24 R-3 turfs for the 10" rims. He has gotten a price of $250 each, installed and on the trailer... does anyone have any opinion if this is a fair price? I, fortunately, haven't a clue.

112-24 in a R3 design is not very common. It would be nice to know what brand and ply rating he is looking at. Goodyear makes one, in a 6 ply, SFT105. I sell that tire for 232.52 at wholesale. Firestone also makes one, in a Service Diamond 4 ply that would sell for about the same money.

From what I can tell, considering your friend was quoted a mounted price, the deal seems fair.
