If any of you PT owners need any 26X10X12 with rims, check out this web site. One third less cost than PT tires and rims.

I have Titans on my 422 (23 X 10.50-12) that are in good condition, and wonder if you can tell me if these "26X10X12" that you gave the web site for would work on my PT?

I would like to have the "All terrain, V-lug" tread for winter use.

As you can tell from this, my tire knowledge is lacking.

Thanks in advance,
Abe.

I believe your 23 x 10.5-12 means:
Your tire size is 23" in diameter.
Your tire width is 10.5" across.
And your metal wheel is 12" in diameter.

The tires J_J mentions are 26X10X12.
That means those tires are 26" in diameter.
10" across the tread.
On 12" rims.

So, they appear to use the same size rim diameter, are 1/2" more narrow than your current tires, and are 3" taller than your tire. If the bolt holes on the rims were the same pattern as yours, the rims would work on your tractor. The taller, skinnier tires would give you 1.5" more ground clearance and a higher top speed, but less power for hill climbing and pulling. It would, in effect, change the gearing of your tractor. It would also make the tractor width measured from the outside of one wheel to the outside of the other 1" narrower, which might decrease stability on hills, but get you into tighter spaces.

Abe, I agree with what David said about the tires, except the wheels might have an offset which might give you a little more width. It's a good price if you want a spare set . I would make sure the bolt holes match up and the center hole is large enough for your purpose. Do you run your tires and rims in the wide position now?

SPECIFICATIONSSize AT26x10-12
25" O.D., 10-1/4" wide tire
5 bolt hub on 4-1/2" B.C. W/ 3-1/8" pilot
6" hub backspace
Tubeless
7 PSI Max.
6 ply rating
Shpg. 40 lb.

It does have an offset.

JJ & MR,

Thanks for your quick response. I thought that was what the numbers represented, but not having much knowledge on the subject, I did not want to take a chance and mess something up.

MR,
I have mostly flat sandy ground, and a few slopes here and there, but nothing drastic, so I don't think that would be much of an issue.

JJ,
By "Do you run your tires and rims in the wide position now?", do you mean inside out (or turned backwards)? I forget who it is, but I know there is someone on here that has there wheels turned around to make it wider, and they swear by it. But no, I don't have mine that way if that is what you mean.

I was just looking for a good buy on an extra set of tires and wheels, and thought those might be pretty good for winter use.

Abe.

Yes, some of the 425/422 people run their PT's with the rims reversed. It probably does give better stability. The rims on my 1445 are not reversible. If you do want to run the rims in the reverse position, and you are using lug tires, the pointed end of the lug must point forward, is the correct way.

You can also look on th Internet for some good deals on just the tires. Ebay is a good place to start, and several other people have mentioned some other sources.

These tires are for use on an ATV, and are not suitable for PT425 use.

They are too large in diameter and would reduce the power of the wheels, which on PT425s is already marginal.

More importantly, with only '7 PSI Max.' they will not carry the maximum load of the front wheels, which can total 2400#! (Even with 11# in the front OEM tires, when fully loaded the distance from tread to rim is cut in half!)

With over 230 hours on my PT425 its lug tires show very little wear. For replacement, if ever needed, I'd stick with the OEM tires!
