I have a YM1700 that I love! I have the stock rice tires on it and the skinny fronts. I LOVE that Hoye turf tire and wheel setup but cannot bring myself to spend $1,500 on them. What can I look for that would fit and be similar? What're my options?

Are you looking for added stability or just something friendlier to your ground...or both? You could add wheel spacers to add stability. You could put a turf tire on your existing rear wheel. It would be a little taller than your lug tire. They are not quite as wide as our turf kit and the two rear turf tires will cost about 1/2 the price of the whole wheel/tire kit. You could also put a narrower 12" car/trailer tire on your front wheel.

Can both be done and not trade ground clearance could taller tires work I have 2wd ?

Our turf kit lowers the tractor around 3" inches (by design to improve stability). The R3 tire that will fit the factory wheel should be pretty close to the same diameter (about an inch smaller +/-) as the stock lug tire so you would not lose much ground clearance going that way if that is important. It will work fine on your 2wd. Probably not close enough to work on a 4wd unless you changed the fronts too.

No, I'm trying to go lower and wider. I LOVE the look of the turf tire kit and that is exactly what I want. But $1,500 is a lot..... So was just wondering if there are any tire/wheel combos from another tractor manufacturer I could keep an eye out for used.

Not that I'm aware of. Since your tractor is 2wd you can put pretty much anything you want on there but I'm not aware of any other tractors (other than Yanmar) that use that same bolt pattern.

How about the 16 inch rear wheels for YM186 or YM187?

Ag tires are available and truck offroad tires should fit too.

How about the 16 inch rear wheels for YM186 or YM187?

They will have a different bolt pattern but I'm sure you could modify them to work.
