Tire Sealant...pink stuff...TireSeal?

Seems to be hard to find the pink stuff, (TireSeal) that is supposedly harmless to rims unlike others. Does anyone have info on where this can be found. I've googled and can't find it, although it has been raved on here and elsewhere. Is Slime really harmful to rims? That's what I've come to understand.

I don't know of anything that is harmful to rims, although calcium chloride might be a possible candidate.

I don't think the sealers are harmful, at least in the lifetime of a tire rim.

Not sure which forum I saw that on. One guy showed samples of different sealants and what they turned into after exposure to heat in a trunk I believe, and I just got off the phone with the local tire guy. He said that Slime was known to ruin rims, and I guess you wouldn't know that until you broke them down to see.

I've used slime in tractors tires + car tires when I had a flat in the middle of no-where and never had a rim problem from rusting,etc.

Now, the tire guy that has to clean it out of the tire has the problem with slime. :laughing: Never meet one that liked it.

Don't know what brand was used, but my JD 420 had sealant in the front tires when I bought it. Had a pencil lead sized hole in one rim from the sealant;

Yeah...the life of a rim can be lengthy for these tractors. Would rather err on the side of caution. Thank you for the photo. Worth a million hearsays..Barryman's has been around a long time. On the label it says something like corrosion inhibitor, so apparently that is a red flag. Does anyone have experience with other than Slime? Pretty expensive investment, but necessary in the Texas Hill Country. I bet I have a mesquite thorn that is doubling as a plug right now!

I have some experience with SchaefferSeal. In Liberty Hill Texas. Incredible product, non-corrosive, non-flammable. Seals punctures as big as rebar.

Wow..spoken like a true Texan!:laughing: Now..reallly...REBAR?? But even if your only slightly exaggerating that sounds great to me. I live close to Liberty Hill...where did you get this stuff? Is it wildly expensive..I found something locally that might do the trick, also non corrosive for about 12 bux per 20 inch front tires..but I'll look into SchaefferSeal.
