New Holland T1510
I just bought a New Holland T1510 (4x4, Hydro, 30hp with FEL)...to be delivered Tuesday

the rear tires are the R4 sized 15 x 19.5

I asked the salesman about loading the tires and he gave me a price of only $250 for loading them with Rim Guard. I am having that done before they deliver it.

All I have read and seen before was that Rim Guard was supposed to be unbelievably expensive.

So I was wondering if maybe the Sales guy gave me a good deal because I bought it new thru him or did they under price / quote me?

I hate to ask the sales guy and have him jack it up if he realizes it was too little

Also...

On Rim Guards Documentation page

Rim Guard - Liquid Tire Ballast

and then

Rim Guard Hydro-Flation Table for Commercial/Construction Tires

It shows this for approximately my size tires:

Tire size: 15.5-25
Gallons of Rim Guard: 46
Weight: 493

Does that mean I am getting 986 pounds weight when they do both tires?

That would be great

Beats a 400 pound weight box creation

You did fine... but I wouldn't just use the loaded tires as my only ballast.. so don't shelf that weight box idea yet, maybe get a heavy box blade? You're getting a large enough tractor for 900-1200 pounds of extra rear ballast. Some of that rear weight should (needs) to be in back of the rear tires when using the FEL.

It sounds like a good deal. According to RimGuards website, Rimguard usually is $0.28 per pound of weight. So for 1000 lb it would be $280. He is probably giving you a good deal because you bought new. The nice thing about having it done before they deliver is that you don't have to take the tires off and haul them somewhere to get filled (really tough when you get the loaded tires home and have to put those heavy things back on), or pay a service call for someone to come and fill them on site.

I paid about the same per pound as you did when I bought my new tractor. I think they give it to you at close to cost because it will give you better performance and stability on you tractor and you will be happier with it (hence more likely to buy from them again).

Oh...I hadn't thought about "behind" the wheels vs general weight

I use a box blade on my tractor with the FEL and I have loaded tires. I usually like it on there anyway because I use it to smooth out or level the dirt I am moving.

Well..

pay no attention to me

I am a bit slow

I possibly mis-read the brochure also

"IF" i had the 15 x 19.5 rear (R4) tires, I would have to have the 25 x 8.50-14 fronts....that is the only way they match up on NH "price your own" page also

I could be wrong there

So...the brouchures other choice was

Bar R1, (agricultural) and the rears would be 11.2 X 24 and the fronts 7.4 X 14.

That is more like it

But then it makes it look like I got taken for a ride on the price of loading them if in fact the price is about .28 cents a pound

darn!

Maybe I need to stop.....breathe....relax....and just wait for the thing to show up and see exactly what is what.

I thought I knew

stoopid me

For that size tire, rimgard on a Mahindra 2816 which I believe uses the same size R4, would have cost me $450.

I have the same size tires, and when I had mine filled with Rimguard it seems like it cost me 175, but I just looked for the receipt, but cannot find it

I know it wasnt over $200

I just had rimguard put in my tires. It cost 4.00 a gallon. The dealer in my area does not charge for pick up and delivery so long as the cost for repair is over $350.00. For $440.00 I had my tires loaded. The dealer picked up the tractor on a wednesday and returned it on Friday. Paid for the service over the phone and never had to lift a finger. :D
