Has anyone tried or really looked at the belmont tilt deck trailer ( the non power tilt ). What are your impressions of it. I'm thinking of buying and 18' for my tractor and such, but would like reviews and opinions first. Thanks.
Daryle.

I don't have a Belmont but I did buy a tilt bed trailer from H&H Trailer. It was non power tilt when I bought it but I bought a cylinder and power unit shortly after purchase and changed it to power tilt. My non power tilt had a manually pumped cylinder that would wear your arms out by the time you got it tilted. It would only jack about 1/16" of the cylinder per pump.

I looked at the Belmont Trailer site and they look like a nice trailer. I'd check out a non power unit before you buy to see how many pumps it takes to full tilt. I changed mine from non power to power tilt because I could save over half the price difference a power tilt trailer costs by buying the parts and installing them myself.

Make sure you get a wide enough trailer for your needs. I use mine for hauling not only the tractor but cars, trucks, and other materials as well so I got one that is 83" between the fenders x 20' long and has removable fenders for easier side loading.

Here's one you can buy. Power tilt deck. Nicest trailer you'll ever own. 22' long.

Thanks guys! Those are some awesome looking trailers. I'm assumeing that y'all are happy with them? The trailer that I looked at was 18' and 14k, but I would like 20' deck I think. I too will be hauling the tractor, cars, trucks etc. I have no trailer now, so I'm trying to find one that will do most of what I want to do. The piston was like a shock, and had an adjustment valve to get the right setting so it would go down without slamming. I too would like an electric up and down, even though this one tilts back on it's own. I just don't know if I can aford it. Thanks again gents.

Hey Daryle I don't know what the belmont trailer cost. I bought a 22" tilt deck manual trailer on e-bay from a manufacturer called Mule Tuff Trailer .The trailer had a manual tilt ,12,000 lbs rating ,all steel deck, breaks on both axles dexter axles. New tires and rims. They are selling for $ 3,750. dollars. He is located in Missouri. I just sold mine today for $ 4,000 I bought it in 2006 18' tilt 4' flat deck. I didn't use it much so I sold it. Good luck finding the right trailer. David..

Since you brought up the subject of tilt bed trailers, I have to ask a question that has been on my mind...

With a power tilt trailer, what do you do when you get the car, tractor, etc. on the tilted bed? Does it have a setting that allows the bed to level out on its own? Do you have to get out of the car, tractor, etc.? Does it take more than one person.

Please forgive my ignorance. I like the idea of a tilt bed, but I've been wondering how you'd work it.

There are a couple types of power tilt trailers. Some use a dual acting hydraulic cylinder powered by a 12V electric power up, power down hyd. unit. Push the handle to tilt it up, drive vehicle on trailer, push handle opposite way to power down. Others use power up, load vehicle, then move lever to allow gravity to lower it down. The second type is what I have. There are also some gravity only tilt trailers. They are balanced pretty well and once the pins are pulled an average person stands on the back to tilt the trailer down, drive the load on and gravity will lower it down. These use a shock absorber system to allow a gradual tilt.

So, if I understand correctly, either you leave the vehicle hanging in the air on the trailer, or you need two people to run the trailer. Is this correct?

How does this work for those who have them?
