Just thought I'd demo how rocky parts of my yard are. This used to be farmland, many years ago. Parts of my property are clay, parts are sandy, and parts are like rock quarries. I suspect the rocky/stony parts may be stuff dumped in a pile then covered up when my house was being built. It sure makes the tiller jumpy!

Looks like your getting the place in shape :D. I watched a few of your boating vids. Beautiful spot you have up there.

Yep, since getting the tractor much has changed! I'm giving myself 2 years to get the landscaping and gardens the way they should be. 6 yards of mulch coming on Monday for the area around the new fruit trees.! :):D

I saw your video and think you are a big crybaby (kidding I'm only kidding!) I did not see rocks, I saw stones. Over here we have rocks, and it is a big difference.

Thanks Rox (good name you have there!) - I'm new at this!! I now know that every time I till the yard, more rocks, err, that is, stones, show up! From 2" to fist-sized, mostly, with the odd bowling ball size one thrown in for good measure). Well, at least it gives me more time outside in the good weather, throwing rocks (stones - it's hard to break that habit :)) into the FEL to dump somewhere. So far I've collected about 3 loader buckets full! But the ground is slowing transitioning to something that will be nice lawns and garden beds next year :D:D:D.

Looks good NS:)but where the rocks, you need to visit NH. and they don't call us the granite state for nothing.;)
Before we know it the winds will be cold and the ground froze....again. :(

Oh we got rocks.....:D

NSBound's yard looks to have some pretty nice soil, and in his part of the province its usually the case.

However head down the south shore / halifax area and its rock central.... Got to blast for pretty much anything.

We have land on the North East coast (country Harbour) and theres lots of rocks there too. Ask the pipeliners who ran the gas pipeline thru our property ;)

The biggest crop in my garden is the spring crop of new rocks.

Misery loves company :). Actually, reading all the replies to this, I'm thinking I'm not so bad off after all! I'll just keep picking out the rocks (er, stones, according to Rox!) and keep on keeping on :D.
