I'm looking at a King Kutter II TG-48 or the 48" XB tiller for my Kubota B7500HSD. I'm in east central IL where the ground is soft and I don't believe rocks will be a major problem. As much as I would like to add a FEL, I don't see one in my future anytime soon. Nor have I had reason to put weights on the front as my MMM, PHD, BB, RB are no problem sans weights. But, I gather that a heavy tiller could be another story. I, too, perceive the extra weight (600#) of the TG-48 to be reflective of more "beef" but the XB looks solidly constructed to me (at 425#) and shares a gear drive, slip clutch w/ the TG-48. The TG-48 has the slight offset but I don't believe that is really necessary given that my rear tire spread is 48". Would the additional 175# of the TG-48 as compared to the XB present a problem given my lack of forward weight? Might even the XB? If even the XB might present a problem, how much weight might I need to add to the front for the XB? Ditto, the TG-48?I'm not a welder. Is there an easy way to add weight up front - e.g., bolt-on weights? Thanks in advance for your input and thoughts.
