I have a ck20 but am hoping to upgrade to something in the near future. I am in the market for a tiller, I was looking at the KK from TSC. They have a 48" and a 60" for a $100.00 difference. I would like to get the 60" and be done with it. But I think it may be too much for the ck20 to run. So I was thinking of getting the 60" and taking a few tines off. So what do you all think. I would also like to hear what other sizes people are running on there ck20's. Thanks

I have a 47" kioti six tine per flange and a 60" befco 4 tines per flange. The 47" will work the tractor harder then then 60 will in a lot of cases. Personally though in clay soil the 60" is a bit much for the tractor. Especially if you are a first time user to a tractor. It is going to depend alot on the tines per flange. I can tell you that more then 4 tines per flange on a 60" in hard soil is going to stop you. In clay i can stall out easy with the 47". Even with the hydo drive on my ck20 it is still tight sometimes.

I am using a Kioti 55 inch tiller with no problems. It has 6 tines per flange. A 60 inch should be no problem for you. I am in PA and your in CT so I am thinking your soil is rocky like mine. Your first past in virgin soil should be slow and keep the rpms around 12-1300. Loosen up the slip clutch because the rocks are such a pain. They'll jam between the tines and the housing. Just keep the rpm's down is my big suggestion less than 1500. 6 tines fly around pretty fast as it is and the rockssssssss, geeze. Some of them are like icebergs. You're only seeing the tip of a monster.

I also use the KK 60" with my CK20HST and it works like a charm. You can take a row of tines off it you need to, but I have my share of rocks and such here in CT and the CK20 runs it fine.

I see you are in Stonington, hope you did ok with the flooding. If the weather permits, I will be putting my tiller on and running a new area for a garden. If you want to see the 60" run on the CK20, let me know and you can stop by and see it run, or get on the tractor and run it yourself.

We have sold 48 and 60's to customers with the CK20 and they have had no problem. We have the "Tarter" (6200+ outlets nationwide) Gear Drive, 6 tines per rotor, slip clutch, made in USA, Powder coat paint. 48 inch $1495, 60 inch $1595. Ken Sweet

Natem, if you are in CT you are in for a wild ride with that tiller. Those CT potatoes (rocks) that come up every year raise havoc with a tiller.
In CT we do not dig holes we pick rocks out until it resembles a hole.
My post hole digger is almost useless, it is easier to use the backhoe to dig a big hole, then fill back in around the post. Trying to dig a little bitty round hole of the right size, is near impossible.

LOL, yup, buckle up and keep your foot near the clutch
