I was disking today. And as i was passing too close to my feeder i slamed on brakes so the disk would not catch the leg of the feeder. I had just lifted the disk and put the throttle in so i was maybe going half to 3/4 speed i guess when i went to hit brakes. All was well i went on by slow. Turned around for a pass back other way put lever down and pulled throttle back. It was not working tractor so i look back to see disk still in air?? I got off looked. Nothig was jambed or hung disk was just in air. If i stood on backnot would bypass the valve and disk would slow drift down just to go back up? When throttled up you could hear the releif squeeling??

Drove back to house and was sure it was a balve issue since the arms would raise back after pulled down. I get the valve off. Pulle the ends off and the shaft would not easy push out, i was sure that was the issue. It was like it got wedged too far back...maybe inertia let it get jambed...there was some corrosion and a rough spot on the back side the spool may of got hung on? Anyway i knocked it out with a socket put back togeather seemed to be sliding. Went to put caps on and as i tightened the button shot out. Picked it up and the circlip had busted out of the grove and let it fly out the front side!.

So now i either need to get that chrome buttton and try to put it back togeather or get the new one now that Hoye has them back in stock. We were just talking about these valves a week or two ago in a thread. I mentioned they were out but they have them back in stock i see. I mentioned thay mine was worn as it bypassed fluid and the implement would drift down when tractor was off or at low rpm. Maybe i just buy one...BUT its $300!!!

Anyone else had a valve break?

Must be something in the air ! LOL I was also disking when the battery blew. you were disking when the 3 pt broke

I wish my 3 point worked also.
I don’t know if it is that top valve or the o-rings on the larger piston inside of the front of the trans behind the lock out valve assembly.

Mine was also stuck/seizes after I had rebuilt the enigine and also found the lockout knob to be almost completely shut.

Haha, well i was. I had just lifted the disk at the end of a row. When i hit the brakes to i didnt take out my deer feeder. When i turned around to go back, disk would not go down even when i put lever down.

Yea you saw i commented on your post, i thought the same thing!! Both disking!

Mine leaks down as well. I think i may buy the new one and just be done with it and not worry will it get into that same position again, im 3 hours from my house and all my tools, and then there is the leak down when is off it would fix. Which is not a big deal but the height difference at low rpm vs full speed can get anoying. You can set the mower deck then take off you have to mess with it at operating speed as it will sag a bit at lower rpm.

This is the one with the banjo bolt under the seat on top of the transmission correct?

Yep your correct.

I just ordered one of the new valves Hoye has. They just recently got them in stock. I probably will be one of the first ones I bet. I'm sure I will be the first on this forum to try it out.

I am debating on buying it as well. I probably need to call them and confirm that it is bad in some way.
I guess if I pull the main piston out behind the lock out valve knob and inspect it that should confirm the other is bad. Mine didn’t explode apart like yours did, I don’t think. Yet there is still much trouble with operation.
