I was disking today. And as i was passing too close to my feeder i slamed on brakes so the disk would not catch the leg of the feeder. I had just lifted the disk and put the throttle in so i was maybe going half to 3/4 speed i guess when i went to hit brakes. All was well i went on by slow. Turned around for a pass back other way put lever down and pulled throttle back. It was not working tractor so i look back to see disk still in air?? I got off looked. Nothig was jambed or hung disk was just in air. If i stood on backnot would bypass the valve and disk would slow drift down just to go back up? When throttled up you could hear the releif squeeling??
Drove back to house and was sure it was a balve issue since the arms would raise back after pulled down. I get the valve off. Pulle the ends off and the shaft would not easy push out, i was sure that was the issue. It was like it got wedged too far back...maybe inertia let it get jambed...there was some corrosion and a rough spot on the back side the spool may of got hung on? Anyway i knocked it out with a socket put back togeather seemed to be sliding. Went to put caps on and as i tightened the button shot out. Picked it up and the circlip had busted out of the grove and let it fly out the front side!.
So now i either need to get that chrome buttton and try to put it back togeather or get the new one now that Hoye has them back in stock. We were just talking about these valves a week or two ago in a thread. I mentioned they were out but they have them back in stock i see. I mentioned thay mine was worn as it bypassed fluid and the implement would drift down when tractor was off or at low rpm. Maybe i just buy one...BUT its $300!!!
Anyone else had a valve break?
