Three point hitch

My three point hitch quit working, worked friday, went out monday and after it raises it will not go down, just sits there,,, put the lever to lower it and leave it down and after a few hours it will lower down , speed setting knob has not been moved, it just quit, any suggestions, it is a farm pro 24/25, The bucket works fine, the steering works fine, Pto works, 3 point nope.

Can you get it to work by changing the speed setting knob?

+1 Try unscrewing the speed knob. It is a little floppy point that acts like a check valve. fluid flows up into it pushing the floppy point up and out of the way to deliver Ful flow/speed up. That tip falls back into the partially block the flow delivering a reduced lowering flow/speed down. Unfortunately if it gets a little far screwed in, it will go up but not down. This is also evidenced while the load is in the air, you cannot turn the speed reg knob as it is hydraulically locked in place, but once you can take the load off the hitch, the knob once again spins freely. Setting it to deliver same up/down speeds can be a little tricky, I usually have to back my brushhog up onto something to unload the hitch and reduce the hydraulic pressure to be able to unscrew that speed knob when I have screwed it in a little too far...

thanks will try above, although the speed knob has never been touched in years, but hey it might need a adjustment. thanks again for the response

Well folks, did not think it was the problem, but I asked for help and I was not going to ignore the advice, turned the speed handle, (knob) under the seat, and problem solved, guess son in law turned it last week and forgot to tell me,,, anyway thanks for the advice, all works fine now.
