Looking at this Land Pride HD MR3572 Boxblade and want to see if anyone has any opinions on the quality and what would be a reasonable offer on this unit. What I like is the floating back blade and the retractable scarifiers. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Looks good so far, but a few better pics showing sides and hitch would help.

It's a great, heavy duty scrapper modeled after the Gannon, I have a HR3584 that I use on our L5740 as well as M8540.

I would just be guessing on price, but new the MSRP is about $4000 for mine, so they sure aren't cheap. I believe another member bought a manually operated one and converted it to hydraulic.

Do you think $1250 is a reasonable price? My other option is a a plain Jane HD model fro everything attachment for about $1000.

I'd buy the landpride in a minute over a lighter JD Model. A Little time and paint would have it looking new again. TripleR is correct the new models are around $4K. I have about $4k in My Gannon the weight of these heavy units is very nice for ripping hard ground

Personally I'd snap it up. Heck I'd pay that just to have one for each tractor. As xring100 said, a little bit of work would essentially give you a like new, quality cutter.

For $1250 thats a heck of a deal!!!
If for some reason you dont like it put a good paint job on it and make some money reselling it.

I would rather have the old heavy duty box blade, but would want to build up the sides as they are worn down. Look at the side plates on Triple R's box blade and you will see the difference.

LP no longer offers that model, the choices now are HR3584 and HRL3578.

The HRL3578 is referred to as the lowback. It has a 19” lowback frame with a 17” moldboard.
The HR3584 is referred to as the highback. It has a 24” highback frame with a 23” moldboard.

I considered the narrower HRL3578 as it would cover my tracks quite well on my 574 and be a bit more maneuverable in the woods, but I needed one to fit both tractors, kind of a compromise as I'd really like one a bit wider on the M8540.

Does anyone know if the back blade locks in place as well as floats? I asked the fella that owns it and he didn't know???

Was also thinking about adding a Pats Quick Change setup to switch from bush hog to this, is the quick change strong enough when using a unit like this?

Thanks for all the input, I'm going to go get that thing this week!

do you have any higher quality pictures of the tailgate area the 2nd set of pictures is just thumbnails to low of a resolution). Most tailgates that float can be pined in place.

If 1250 is his asking price then he may take less just to move it but even at that price you cant loose if you need one.

can't say for sure but there is a nut and washer on this flange 17 and 18. that might lock it in. 1456679676674.jpg

The gate on mine will lock in place with a half inch bolt.

EDIT: I see xring100 beat me to it.

Man you guys are GREAT! Any ideas on the Pats Quick Change setup for something heavy like this. I will be using this on my Kubota L5740.

Thanks

I'm sure they will work, I've just never been a fan, mine are lying around somewhere; never put them on my 5740 when I traded my L5030. I am the exception though as most love them.
