I think I got my moneys' worth out of this pump impeller. It was still pumping fine when I took it apart to replace the seal! That's a new one on the right for comparison.

Was this a diesel or gas engine? What brand name antifreeze was being used? How long was the pump in service and hours used,

Sorry, I should have stated this is out of a trash pump, not an engine water pump.

And a lot of the trash included sand or gravel!
Well pumps also suffer that sort of demise and for that reason different types of impellers are offered with I believe nylon preferred for sandy wells.
