Just giving an overall thanks to the information I received here. This place has been great. My 1250 died while mowing last fall and wouldn't restart with starter fluid. A quick spark plug check showed no spark (gotta love those inline spark testers with the light from Harbor Freight). A quick search here came up with probably a bad coil and gave me coil interchange parts that I was able to get the same day at Napa. I was back in business. However, she became hard starting after that. I decided to to the full tune-up; rebuild the carb, new condenser, points (funnly looks at the parts shop when you ask for points) and a new plug. I was able to get it all back together Sunday. Again, thanks to this forum for how to adjust points. I am happy to say she fired right up even in the cold weather and ran like a champ. I mounted the snow blade and wheel weights and am ready for Winter. OK, almost ready. I still need to get some tire chains.
Thanks to all those posts that I found in my search that told me how to keep a 32 year old tractor alive.
