Mahindra 2015 Gear/Loader
I own a 2004 Mahindra 2015 with loader. I use a ratchet rake on it along with a box blade (aka grader box) to rake my driveway once a year. I really don't use it for anything else. The blasphemy part, I'm thinking about selling it. I have a Suzuki Kingquad 750 and a snow plow.

Anyone ever put your ratchet rake on an ATV snow plow and use it to rake your gravel driveway? Will it work? Any other cost effective ways to use my resources and rake my driveway?

I hate owning a very expensive piece of equipment that only gets minimal use. I have asked for a quote from a local grader guy to rake the drive. I figure to pay a fee once a year for someone else to do it makes more sense than owning the equipment to do it myself.

The part we are all having trouble understanding is that you have a tractor and unlike us you haven't figured out the 1001 other uses the tractor has besides maintaining your road. Sure I maintain my road, but I literally use the tractor for so many other things I would be hard pressed to name them all . It is a mystery to me at least that you don't do the same.

I can see some small property owners who are not real motivated or creative not using their tractors, but mine hardly goes a week without doing something

Me too. I could not live where I live and not have my tractor, pickup, UTV, and attachments. Wouldn't know what to do.

At the risk of being shunned by my fellow TBN'ers (no, I'd not give up my tractor), I have noticed quite the array of attachments & implements for an ATV whilst wandering around the Ag Show.

The 'powered' pull-behind implements have Honda engine(s) or are geared to the wheel rotation. There was a combination disc/seeder/roller implement that was very innovative and was used with an ATV. Tractor 3PH implements are being downsized to be towed/operated by these vehicles, including side-by-sides.

There's a market out there.

Yes there is. Then throw in the UTVs. I think I even saw a 3pt kit for the Kubota RTVs?

I'd say if the OP doesn't have a use for his tractor, he's better off selling it and using the ATV.

I agree with my friend here from Branson. Have you considered seeking professional help ???

This website is full of members that own a tractor they rarely use. If the OP is one of them, he should be applauded for realizing his error and recouping some of the money he's invested in this rarely used equipment. :)

I can understand the OP's point of view totally. I have 12 acres, largely woods but several acres of open field, and a long steep gravel driveway. My tractor mows the field, vacuums leaves, plows snow, grades the drive, chips fallen limbs, and hauls firewood. But in between it can sit for weeks unused, maybe even a couple of months. I can't image thinking it would be fun to "be creative" and find some additional jobs for it. It's purpose is to get work done when it needs doing, nothing more.

I'm not about to get rid of it, because when I need it I need it. But I can see that if someone has other tools to do what needs to be done it might not be necessary. My Mule has taken over some of my small hauling needs, including taking me and hand tools down the driveway and back to do ditch maintenance, so my tractor gets less use than it did before.
