New to the board. Value your experience. I have been thinking of buying a Mahindra 5035, but after reserching, it scares me all the problems everyone is having! Almost 200 pages of problems no longer than Mahindra has been in US seems like and extreme amount of problems? I considered Kubota, but you get so much less tractor for the money. The 5035 has alot of flexable hydraulic lines for the loader. More than I have ever seen on a tractor. Anyone have a reason why they use no hard lines on anything? Thanks.

Less money. Hoses should last for at least 20 years. Hard lines crack from vibration, I've seen that first hand on different Case machines.

Something to keep in mind about forums, what you tend to see are all the bad things. People come on to complain. Most people don't join to say what a great machine that they got. Or if they do, they have only a few hours use on it. The tractor isn't even close to being broke in yet. Just the way that it is. You have to take all of that into consideration. Another thing that I notice is there seem to be more complaints when it comes to the economy models vs the deluxe models. I'm not just talking Mahindra here, but all the different makes. All to often you can read this or that make is poorly built compared to this other make. When asked what models they are comparing, it is often an economy model of one make vs a deluxe model of the make that they are touting.

The Mahindra 5035 is a very good tractor, very few problems reported about it. The 4035 has had some fuel line problems, I think mainly in the beginning of production. :confused3: Depending what all you plan on doing with the machine, but the 5035 has to be up among the top of the 50hp range of tractors and what their capabilities are.

All things that should be considered IMO.

Just my :2cents: Good luck ;)

Thanks. I realize people tend to complain more than brag, but just seems like Mahindra forums have more about quality isssues than other forums. I have been researching tractors for 6 months and I think my wife is getting tired of it dominating my life. I just don't want to have any regrets. I like the looks and features and weight of the 5035. I made high pressure hoses for the auto industry for years, and I know we used mid steel everywhere that that we could because it is more efficient. I have a koyker loader on another tractor I have and the hose's are about shot and they are only about 8 years old and have been under a shed. This 5035 has about 50 feet of hyraulic hose. That would be a pain to replace! Another tractor I have has original hoses and they have been setting in the sun for 20 years. Must be a big difference in the rubber quality.

The 5035 IS going to be the tractor that I buy when I get around to it. The available backhoe has the best numbers in this class. Mind has been made up on that class of tractor. Just need to get a few more ducks in a row. B.

Well, I am suppose to sign papers today on a 5035, loader and backhoe! Hope I made the right choice! Thanks Mntviewranch for your encouragement. I also went to the dealer and talked to their mechanic. They have been carrying the Mahindra's for over 4 years and he said he had never been into a single one for a major repair. Just switches, loose fittings and one clutch replacement on one with 900 hrs. used at a lumber yard. This dealer sold over 100 of them last year and sold 11 in one week a couple of weeks ago.

Heck of a capable machine, I do agree with you on the good looks of the tractor, very unique size and stability. The recently produced 5035's look to be a little better constructed as it's the flagship for that series, but I would check the routing of the loader lines and any hudrostatic lines (didn't say if it were hydrostatic or not) before it leaves the dealership. 4035 and 5035 fuel lines look similar to me, but hopefully they have made some adjustmnets to prevent fuel line failures, which will take out the most and least capable machine equally. As other posts indicate, my research into the 35 series hasn't revealed any issues with major drivetrain components, just fit and finish things like fuel and hydraulic hose leaks from routing rubbing or paint on the battery terminals.

The good news is that all my 4035 issues have been taken care of under warranty, and with a healthy dose of patience, I'm hoping to get a dependable tractor back after all the issues have been resolved. I don't think anyone gets pleasure from complaining about the tractor they have. Personally, I would rather have had the first 40 hours be trouble free, but hopefully someone from Mahindra takes note and corrects the issues with the 35 series since it's one they produce themselves.

Good luck with your purchase, any chance you'd share the price and some pictures? I would figure close to $40k for a 5035 TLB in hydrostatic.

I have not gotten the tractor yet, they had to bring it from out of state because all the 5035's are about gone in the tier 3. I waited a few weeks making up my mind, mostly because of Hydraulic lines and a few other things such as wiring routing that Kubota does so much better. But, having said that, Kubota is very light in the rear end. The model I was considering would have taken some serious ballasting to be effective with the loader, so I decided to give the Mahindra a try. I went to their shop and talked to their head mechanic and he swore minor issues were all they had encountered in the 4 1/2 years they have carried them.
He has worked on all makes and models of tractors and he said, the inner workings of the Mahindras were much beefier than anything he had been into. He goes to Texas every year and they tear different models down and put them back together.
I gave 38,500 out the door for a Power Shuttle Shift, loader and Backhoe. Dmize, I read your rant about your tractor. Hope I have better luck. I mentioned some of the hose routing, if they don,t correct I will tie wrap some I noticed that are close to a hot filter!

Which backhoe are you getting? Your be surprised how new uses for the backhoe pop up. Welcome to TBN.

Im getting the 595. I struggled with paying that much for something I could rent, but some things you Just get because you want them, you don't have to justify it. Bass fishermen could fish out of a V-bottom boat, but most pay 40+ thousand for a bass boat. I have several projects I need it for and didn't want to rent and have to rush to get them finished. I loved digging in the dirt when I was growing up, my shovel just got bigger!

I think the 595 is like my 511. Is the boom curved? What size buckets you getting? I have 12 and 24 inch. Rarely use the 12 inch, as the thumb only fits the 24 inch bucket. Get the thumb......your love it also. Hyd. thumb is the cat's meow, but I just have the fixed articulated thumb. In most instances, a FEL grapple replaces the thumb.
