I haven't been on this site in a long time...

I am thinking of trading in my 2520 for a 2025R.

What are any issues, short comings, etc??? I know the 2520 had that lucky feature of popping out of 4WD... And many have stated that the dealer advised adding air pressure, counter balance, and the like... All of which were appalling solutions. I would just like to know what I am getting myself in if I go with a 2025R.

Thanks...

I admit I haven't paid the tractor popping out of 4x4 any attention as I don't have this model. Is this a problem your tractor has? Is there any other reason for trading?

I would be reluctant to trade across as that sounds like lost money imo.

I would ask myself, what's in it for me? Horsepower and traction are the same in the two models so I can't work faster or easier. I would take a close look at the 2032R and the 2038R.

I would be unlikely to buy what is essentially the same tractor from a brand that did it wrong the first time. I would also be inclined to go a bit larger, but I don't know your situation.

I had a 2305 jd but traded it for a 2032R , what a tractor, put a new cozy cab and extra hyds, my opinon.

A friend of mine just got a new series 2032R and it is a lot huskier than than the old series it replaced, he hasn't used it much yet but isn't sorry he traded.

After getting the bugs out, 2032r is wonderful.

That would be a good way to not own anything, I can't think of one manufacturer that hasn't had problems at one point.

I was looking at the 2025R and the 2032R and glade I went with the 2032R, the extra size and horsepower makes you feel like your on a big tractor while being able to get into tight places, but I have five acres and I don't know your situation.

Thanks for the input... Apparently the 2025 model back then was the only model that had the issue with popping out of 4WD.

My understanding is that labor costs for fixing the 4WD is about 16 hours, $1300 give or take plus materials and parts. Additionally my understanding is that the fix doesn't fix it permanently. If you would have seen my shorts after the last time it popped out, you wouldn't trust that it could be fixed.

My tractor is 6 years old, trading across to an equivalent size/model really isn't an issue considering I would be getting a warranty again.

After talking to the dealer, I am looking at a '17 2032 R. A little bigger, fuel filler is moved to the rear, auto-connect deck.

So yes, I will probably take a loss... But there are several other features to gain.
