I have a B3030HTSCC cab tractor and I have been thinking about upgrading to a Grand L 3240 or 3540 with the 724 loader. I am in the process of getting quotes now on a Grand L.

I am wondering what my B3030 is worth (I am located in Connecticut).

It is the B3030HTSCC cold weather cab model with the rear defrost and wiper along with the heavy duty alternator. It has factory heat and air-conditioning along with the CD/weather radio. It also has all cab options including rear work lights and two factory rear remotes. It has R4 tires with the rears loaded with rim guard. It has the ATI Tach-all skid steer type Q/A on the loader along with a WR Long true 3rd function kit and bulkhead kit for grapple etc. use. It also has the mid pto kit for a mower etc. I also have the Kubota front quick hitch and 6ft front blade for winter snow removal. The tractor has under 90 hours on it and is two years old. Replacement cost would be close to $30k with the options.

I was planning on asking around $22,000 for it. Thoughts??

Price sounds fair to me but others will chime in that know more... On the new machine though I would surely go for the LA854, forget what min. HP that comes on..
I have never heard one complain on having too much FEL power:D

Good luck what ever route ya go..
Chuck.

don't know about value of yours or what a cab adds to a L 3240/3540 but the L854 is not offered for those machines. You'll have to get a LA 724 on those.

I have almost the same machine as you & I wouldn't sell it for less than $28,000. You're loosing too much money @ $22,000. If you start high you can always come down in price. That's just my opinion & you probably already know the saying about opinions.

I doubt I could get $28000 for it although the replacement cost is easily that and more with tax. I have it listed now for $23500. I am going to take a "hit" on the price but with the Kubota 0% for 42 months that is available now on new "B" series it makes it tough. Most of the used B cab models are listed around $20,000 but don't include all of the options that mine has. If I can get $22,000 for it I would be happy. I am also waiting on a trade in quote from some local Kubota dealers. If it doesn't sell I will hold onto it.

To me it doesn't seem that there would be much of an advantage in the upgrades that you are talking about, at least in terms of power. Is there something in particular that you don't like about the B3030 that you could upgrade individually, because your cost for each of those 90 hours of use is going to be very high.

I am mainly interested in the LA724 loader for grapple work. It will lift almost double the weight of the LA403 on the B3030. This would probably be my last upgrade for years. Agreed, it is a hit based on the hours. I am still waying my options.

Go for the 3540 with the 724! I made the same jump up from a B3030 HSDC with the 403 and it was like going from an impala to a caddy! The 3030 is a fine machine, strong loader & pto, great on fuel, easy to service, etc. This new grand L 40 series is a DREAM tractor and if you go for the cab, holy cow!! I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am actually looking at open station Grand L's. The cab is/was nice for snow removal but for the other uses an open station tractor would work just as well for me. The cab models are just to much $$ It also would not clear my garage door due to the Grand L cab height.

I have not had much luck yet selling my B3030. The local dealer only offered $20,000 in trade. That is to much of a hit. If I can sell my B3030 for at least $22,500 I will move up to a Grand L3240. It is quite a machine. Otherwise I will continue with my B3030, it has served me well so far.

I sold my 3030 in a private sale to a tbn member, the dealer trade in offer was a joke! Good luck, i hope you can make it work out.
