Tractor
Kubota B2601
I currently own a Kubota B3030HSTCC which I have had for about a year. I have just about 50 hours on it. The tractor has been great but I would like more loader capacity. I was originally planning on using the "B" for mowing so that is why I went with a "B" instead of an "L" at the time. I ended up not using it for mowing and I could use more loader capacity.

I am looking at the Grand L4240HSTC as it is the lowest model that you can get the 854 loader on.

This is a quote I just got from a MA dealer. I am still getting other quotes.
Kubota L4240HSTC.....................31,950.00
> Kubota LA854 loader
> -quick attach bucket
> -third function valve
> -industrial tires
-front and rear work lights
-loaded tires
> MA Sales Tax..5%......................1597.50
>
> Trade in B3030 cab tractor........(-20,000.00)
with plow and accessories
>
> Total price to upgrade............$13,547.50

I am not sure if the price is in the ballpark? I know New England pricing tends to be high.

I am not sure if the $20,000 trade is good either. I am condering just selling the tractor out right. I paid around $28,000 last year for the B3030 including tax.

My current B3030HSTCC basically has every cab option (front/rear work lights, rear defrost, front/rear wiper, two rear remotes and cab CD/weather
radio). The LA403 FEL has the ATI Tach-All skid steer type Q/A added to it and the factory 60" bucket was converted to Q/A and had three hooks welded to the top of it. I also have the WR Long true elec/hydr 3rd function valve installed with a new joystick knob with FEL mounted WR Long bulkhead kit mounted to the FEL torque tube. It is ready for a 4in1 or grapple. The rear tires are also loaded with RimGuard. I also have the Kubota quick hitch and 72" front blade which I used last winter for snow removal (little that we had).

Amigauser, I'm in the same boat. My B3030 Cab, just turned 13 mo. old. 200hrs. Never had a lick of problems. Cutting grass in 90+ temps and 65 inside the cab, or plowing snow in a t-shirt, {Kubota T-shirt} or taking feed to the animal in the pouring down rain has convince me that a cab is the only way to go. Also the cab allows me to work a full 12mo/yr. in comfort. Thus allowing me more time to take on new task.
Now that grass cutting season is over I'm planning to cut more horse trails over the winter months. Like you I'm wanting more loader capacity.
I looked/drove and priced the Grand L4240 Cab. Very nice piece of engineering.
Your prices on the Grand L 4240 are in line with what I was offered. As far as trade for the B3030 Cab I was surprised how much I was offered. Not as much as you, but yours has some pretty $$ options I don't.
Over all I feel you looking at a good deal! And an excellent tractor.
My vote is Get It!!

amigauser,

What did you end up doing ?

Did you trade in your B3030 or are you selling it yourself ?

Thanks, Tim

20k$ for a 50 hr machine is tuff to swallow. I'll bet you could get at least $23k
for it on a private sale. Also, why buy from a Mass dealer if your not going to register it for road use?

If you add the two up you could save yourself $4-$5K

I just paid $22,350 for the L4240 without the cab but with loaded R4 tires and a third valve--no front and rear lights. The LA854 I paid $4,650 for, with Quick Attach bucket. You didn't mention the back hoe, but for reference I paid $1,750 for the BH 90 with Quick Attach 18" bucket.

Your price sounds similar to mine, I think. I'm in NY state, southern part, Hudson Valley, and prices run high here. I don't think this is the best deal in the world, but the dealer has a good reputation for service and as a first-time tractor owner this meant a lot to me.

Hope this helps.

Say what bro' ? $1,750 for a BH90 without ANY bucket would be considered highway robbery in these parts :)
