07 2520
I currently own a JD 2520. I want/need something larger. While the 2520 has been a great unit, when I cut on my hillsides I feel like the tail's wagging the dog so to speak. My main uses are field cutting with rotary cutter and using the loader for projects, and snow removal.I have a WHIP project starting and will be doing more food plots as well. The tractor is used at my place upstate and the Kubota dealer there far outshines the Deere dealership- in all areas including pricing. While I like the Grand series tractors, my useage doesn't justify the added expense.
Is the 3200 a decent unit for my intended purposes? I will drive one next week when I'm there again. thanks.

Many people hate the jerky 3 point hitch issues, but otherwise they seem to be a solid, reliable tractor.

I've read on that and discussed it with the dealer. I'll see how it is. Another issue with my 2520 my post hole digger has to be tied back as it drags the auger; doesn't lift high enough.

I got a price on a L2800 (the model replaced by the L3200) it was like $19,000. The HST was $1,000 more than the gear shift. R4s or R3s were $1,300 more than the R1s. I doubt the jerky hitch would bother me (only since I never lift the arms up a half inch), but I didn't buy it. I was slightly hesitant due to the economy, but when they wouldn't work with me on a trade in, it was a deal breaker.

I just bought one 4WD, HST, with a loader. It has plenty of power, the loader bucket has had no problem picking up stuff. Got the R4 tires and they are great. I was able to pull a 6000lb truck out of the mud. I''m looking at a 6ft box grader and I'm not expecting any problems. I love my unit.

In my opinion, they (Kubota) are not going to make a tractor underpowered for its size. It's loader and all other attachments are downsized compared to larger tractors. So your limiting factor when going up in size and power is the time it takes you to do stuff. My only limiting factor was the price. This was the most expensive / largest I could afford. If you can swing it... go BIG!!

Smaller tractors = smaller attachments = more time to do stuff.
Larger tractor = larger attachments = less time to do stuff.

Anyone agree or disagree?

Thanks for the replies. I am trying to be fiscally prudent as well. Own my 2520 and will finance the difference as 0% for 60 mos allows me to keep money in the bank. My 2520 is an 07 or 08 and only has 120hrs.. I anticipate more hours as my projects unfold.

Without getting into great detail, the 0% Kubota offers is no longer truly 0%, since they have, IIRC, a $1000 rebate if you pay cash. Their offers change however and sometimes that rebate goes away (then it is actually 0%). Still a fairly good deal if you need to finance it though.
