The liquid inside young coconuts can be used as a substitute for blood
plasma.

No piece of paper can be folded in half more than seven (7) times.

Donkeys kill more people annually than plane crashes.

You burn more calories sleeping than you do
watching television.

Oak trees do not produce acorns until they are fifty (50) years of age or
older.

The first product to have a bar code was Wrigley's gum.

The king of hearts is the only king without a mustache.

American Airlines saved $40,000 in 1987 by

Apples, not caffeine, are more efficient at waking
you up in the morning.

Most dust particles in your house are made from dead skin.

Those are good. Unfortunately the one about the oak tree made me question all the others. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I know that is not true. I planted several acorns in the back yard about 10 years ago just to see what they would do. Now I have 3 oaks about 15 feet tall that produce acorns every year. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This is worse than my picture of the cats wearing the bikini tops or the parable about the grasshopper and the ant. If it makes it past the moderators for more than 24 hours, I will be surprised. Any bets on which moderator is going to take it down? I have my ideas as to the moderators that will allow it to stay and the ones that will dump it...... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

What kind of odds are you giving?

Where I come from, it is commonly acknowledged that if you haven't seen it before, you won't know what it is and if you have, you won't be shocked. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Now, I do remember back in the 1960's when some prim and proper people in the Midwest were putting skirts on the cows so their utters wouldn't show and embarrass the other farm animals. Anyone here old enough to remember that?

The TV show Myth Busters busted the one about a ducks quack not
having an echo. It took them a few tries but they did it.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the White Oak generally starts producing acorns at age 50. However, on good sites, it may produce seed as early as 20 years of age. The Northern Red Oak first bears fruit at age 25 or as early as 10 years on favorable sites. Seed production on the Chestnut Oak begins when the tree is about 20 years old. The Canyon Live Oak first flowers between 15 and 20 years of age. The California Black Oak, beginning at age 30.
