Hinomoto N249
Hello guys, where do I fiind thermostat on my Hinomoto N249? I worked about an hour and my water indicates same thing, it stays low, or is possible that sensor to be the problem? Thank you

It could be either. It's even possible there is no thermostat. The thermostat is usually the last thing at the top of the engine where the water exits to return to the radiator. The hose usually connects directly to the thermostat housing. You can check the thermostat by removing it and putting it into a pan of water on the stove. As the water heats you can watch the thermostat open. Of course it is possible your gauge reads low normally. I'd rather read low than too high. My Kubota indicates temperature in the lowest quarter of the scale even when working on a hundred degree day. I kind of go by what's normal for my tractor - same with my car or truck.

If you have an infra red temperature sensor (~$20-$30 at Harbor Freight) you can check the water temperature at the cylinder head outlet. Point it at the metal parts.
If it's hotter than the gauge indicates than it's a sensor system problem. If it's cold as indicated, most likely a failed thermostat or no thermostat installed.
Cold coolant temperatures aren't a good thing. The engine is designed to run at certain temperatures to give the best performance. Running a below optimum temperature can lead to sludging of oil, and high fuel usage for starters.

Heck, just take it to a good auto parts and they will match it up 4 you.
Probably in the +/- $10.00 range.
