I just bought a TC40A with a front end loader, mostly for my wife's use.

She's not very mechanically inclined, though, and she tells me that she needs a rear view mirror installed on the tractor.

How would I install one?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions and ideas.

with great difficulty!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Is she worried that the cows are going to sneak up behind her? It isn't likely that there are going to be other tractors on the property? The biggest problem that I foresee is what are you going to mount the mirror to? I guess that you could buy a truck type of arm bracket, but that is going to look rather "out of place" to say the least and it is almost certainly going to be ripped off the tractor within the first hours of operation. My best serious suggestion would be to buy her one of the helmets that bicycle riders use that have the small rear view mirrors mounted on the sides that they can view to the rear with. I have even seen models that have a cold drink cup holder with a straw that will allow her to drink her favorite beverage while keeping both hands on the steering wheel. Please keep my name out of the discussion if she asks where you came up with the idea. I can get into enough trouble without any additional assistance. Remember it was you that asked for suggestions. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Try using a convex stick on kind and place it on one of the loader uprights.

Or, you might install a fiberglass canopy and mount the mirrors on it. That way she can work in the rain as well. Pick up a set of curb feelers for her at Auto Zone while you are there too, they will come in handy for parallel parking . /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

You mean one of these?

I would love to see the look on his wife's face when he suggests wearing a drink hat with a mirror.

Maybe we could put the TBN logo on them. They would have to be sold in several colors of course...

There once was a woman who worked for me who put curb feelers and fuzzy dice on her forklift... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Some 1 inch box steel, 4 carriage bolts, and a drill and you can make ones like mine. The only improvement I would recommend is using the mirror stalks thus having them stick out to the sides more.

That looks nice. Tried a mirror on my canopy, but it vibrated so much that I couldn't use it. And lights too, looks like a kit could be made and sold..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I put a 4" round convex mirror on my canopy awhile, but then didn't like it, so I replaced it with a flat 4" x 6" mirror and and that worked just fine. With my B2710 and the type of canopy I had, vibration was not a problem.

This is what I made up for my century3045. maybe you could adapt it. it has a pin that fits in the shield bracket so I can take it off when I don't want it.
