The Old 4X00 series

Just dropped in from the orange forum. Went by the Deere dealership the other day and saw one of the new 4x10 series tractors. They are very nice looking. On the lot were a bunch of the older 4x00 series tractors. In talking price with them they wanted the same as before the new and improved 4x10s came out. What is the fate of these older models? Perhaps better deals for the purchasers?

My dealer has none of the "old ones" left. He said if they did though they would sell them cheaper. Cliff

Recently, I just went through shopping through the dealerships for a 4700 or 4710. No 4700s were around and dealerships told me they were very difficult to procure. It seems JD is winding down on production of these units. Whatever you find are on dealer lots. Dealers are saying everyone seems to be lining up to buy the 4710. It makes sense that dealers would offer greater discounts off MSRP on these but maybe not quite yet as the 4710s are so new. Maybe, by this summer if 4700s are still around, then they'll offer greater discounts and deals vis-a-vis comparably equipped 4710s. Hope this helps.
