The Horse Ate my 4300 seat!!

That horse ate my seat!, I left it in the field for just a few minutes and came back to find a piece of yellow seat sticking out of his mouth. He ran off, smart horse! but what do i do to replace it go to JD dealer and get a new or find one on ebay?? Thanks for your help. Owen.

LOL...My wife has a horse like that. He hasn't munched on my tractor yet but it's just a matter of time. His last little trick was to reach over the side of the pickup and take a big bite out of a Quick Crete bag....The joke was on him that time... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sorry to hear yours got your seat, pricey snack that will turn out to be. Depending on your seat style you might be able to just get a new pad and cover from JD. Ebay has some pretty good seats for reasonable prices if you can find the correct style that you need.

It is amazing what some animals will do. My FIL parked his L3130 in a field that he was working in to go eat lunch. When he returned some cows were poking around his tractor. He got to looking at what they were so interested in and they had licked off most of the L3130 decal on side. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Yes, animals will do strange things. Our horse has taken an interest in the tractor, but not to the point of eating the seat. Of course, I'm in close proximity to the tractor at the time.

I wouldn't leave anything you want to keep in a pasture with any animals. We left a folding chair, not a cheapy lawn chair, but one of those steel folding chairs next to the stall to sit on. Danza (the horse) decided it was a throw toy and broke it. When she was through with it, I thought it had been run over by the truck.

It is kinda my fault, I know the horse, he is very sneaky and will get into anything if you give him the time. I was just gone a few minutes, but it was enough time for him. It would be ok if it were my horse, but it is a boarders, so at least I have some money to go after for the seat. I was in the JD dealer the other day and saw some new shaped seats on the 20 series could I just mount one of those or stay with the old style?

I once had a horse drag his teeth across the hood of my mother's car. Did it repeatedly. I was in the house and heard a screeching noise outside and it never occured to me that it might be that. Took the paint off down to bare metal and even left a few dents in it. Someone told me that the road dirt would taste salty to them but I don't know. All I know is that I paid for the damage to be repaired. And my daughter just says "aren't they cute."

We have a rat that has a taste for the foam filling in the seats.
eats em from the inside out..
Tried killing it with hi strength rat poison...but it eats it up and laughs at us..
