well first impressions - I think I found what looks like a power receptacle in the fender box - next WHY IS THE MMM SO LOUD!!!! holy cow that thing is the noisiest mower I have ever ran in my life, sounds like the combination of grinding gears and whining hydro motors good lord you cant even hear the tractor engine and barely hear the blade whirring - totally unbelievable going to have to wear shooting protection to mow for sure - disappointed:thumbdown:
Hearing protection is a good idea. I used to mow without it and I would be worn out after 3 hours. I started wearing the muffs and and had some energy left over when the mowing was done.
Congrats on the tractor! I really like the 2038R...who doesn稚 love a turbocharged compact tractor! Lawn mowers are around 90dB. Riding mower is probably louder. Over 85dB we should wear hearing protection if exposure is long term (ie over a few hours). Over 85 you are damaging your hearing. Unfortunately the best remedy is to get used to wearing it all the time

NICE tractor!
I wear 3M Worktunes when I run my little 855 with an Agmate finish mower. The finish mower is so quiet you can just barely hear it over the tractor without hearing protection. I don't think I've seen any tractor I would run without hearing protection other than a cab unit. I don't need it in my cabbed backhoe.
