The Boat house

Some of you may recall me posting some pictures of some grading done in preparation for a small boat house.

It's now sorta done just lacking a large door. A back problem has ended any future work on this project for the coming winter.

Not to be an *****, its a real question. Isn't that just a garage for your boat? I thought a boat house was a house/garage that was at the waterline that you could either drive the boat into, or use a ramp and pulley system to pull the boat into the house?

It looks great, just wondering.

I like the look of your boat house. The shingles are very attractive. Are they real wood? or one of the new alternative products?

The shingles are vinyl siding.

Great looking building but sorry about your back .
I've been having a lot of back pain for over a year now and it hain't no fun.

Been there, it is a lousy feeling when you are an active person, not to mention with a new tractor. This age thing sucks sometimes.

Egon, all of us have used tractors except for the dealers.

That is a very nice boat shed. I had to check twice, but verified that it has a wooden floor. If you want, you cold move the boat out and use it as a bunkhouse.

Sorry, it has a good old gravel floor.

It seems I have given the impression that this is my building on my property which is not the case. It belongs to someone else who was able to coerce me into building it. Much against my better judgment.

Hope the backs get better soon. BTDT still have the bad back. But the back has healed pretty well. Much better than I thought.

Did you just construct the building on 4x4 posts bases? That seems like a real good idea.

Is the building anchored in any way?

Egon, very nice boat building and I hope your back gets better.
I remember seeing those before pictures (I think). I think you'd posted them at one time or was that another project like when you were doing those steps? You boat house is very cool looking.
How far is it from the water?

There are some other pictures of landscaping on the same site.

It is built on concrete blocks much the same as concrete post supports for patios. [As per owners wishes]

The Boat shed is about forty feet from water.



The back gets its first Physio tomorrow. It's a bulged disk between L4 and L5 for some additional information.

The worst part is it affects the balls of my feet which are very tender and sore making walking difficult. I do not do well as a chair ornament which is also a big problem.

Sorry, didn't mean to. Only reason I asked is that my grandparents had a boathouse that was right next to the water with a track to winch the boat out when not in use.

It does look great!!
