The 2 best days of a boat owner\'s life is.....

the day you buy the boat, and the day you sell the boat!

This boat seemed to follow me home the other night and park itself next to my trailer. Although a little "TLC" is needed, I think it will make a great first boat for us. I paid $950.00 for it and everything works good. I've since tuned up the motor and changed all the "maintanable" stuff. The Yamaha V-6 is pretty strong running.

Currently, we are in the process of replacing the carpet and upholstery. After she's in the water, I'll get the trailer painted and update all of the lights to LED's.

Make sure to inspect the hull thoroughly for deep scratches or dings. You will want to have those fixed so that water doesn't penetrate into structural members encased in the fiberglass. Also check the transom for any major cracks or flex.

Somewhere, I have some pics of using the FEL to lift out the 27 gallon fuel tank so I could do some repairs to the floor. I'll get them posted soon.

For a 1986 model, it has what I think as "average" scratches and dings, nothing major. The transom was the first thing I looked at and I seemed to be very solid. Like I said, being my first boat, I won't feel so bad adding some more. The floor around the opening for the fuel tank and the ski locker was a bit soft but once I pulled the seats out and got the carpet up it was only the plywood that was soft. All of the main stringers that I can see are good.

enjoy your new toy- we had a boat for several years and had a blast- then moved on to other things. be safe, have lots of fun. in addition to the two happiest days of a boaters life- what is the definition of a boat? a hole in the water in which you throw money!
