i have a tg1860 (we bought new) with the hst. after roughly 15 years and 710 hours, i have the infamous transmission "chatter/shudder" when making sharp turns, going up an incline, etc.. the dealer, which we bought it from and which has serviced it since new, immediately jumps to "it needs a new tranny"; surely not. since its last service 2-3 months ago, there has been a gradual build up of transmission fluid over the tranny, fan and grate and the "chatter" has gotten worse. any good ideas or has time with the lack of use gotten to it some how? thanks, in advance.

how much oil is in the trans? but yeah a 15yr old hydro is probably failing

Well, Ozzie. I really don't know. And apparently no one else is supposed to know either, as I'm told it's a "sealed" unit. šŸ˜’ I do find it difficult to believe though, that enough fluid has leaked out the breather tube (for an unknown reason) to make it go bad.

i had a vague (been a while since i touched a tg) idea that they either had a level plug or you measured down from the fill port. I'll get into the manual tomorrow and report back.
