testing power steering on MF 135

HI, I am not only a new member but finally a tractor owner after wishing for one for years. yea. My power steering does not work, has not since purchase. To begin diagnosis, perhaps I would insure pump is producing proper pressure, But what should it be? Could easily put guages on lines. otherwise, what is best method to test for cause of malfunction, as I am a maintenance professional by trade I believe I could repair. However, I am believe it wise to seek advise when it is available. has saved me much time and money in the past. thanks all and i look forward to using this site as a new owner
