Hi Folks,
Does anyone one know of any section on the JD website or elsewhere that has technical info (beyond what the configurator.johndeere.com lists) on the various implements, specifically the front-mounted 59" snowblower.
I am leaning towards getting one for a 4300, but I want to be sure it's built like a tank. I have seen the 60" model put out by New Holland and their is up near 700lbs. The stuff I'm looking for is: weight, guage of the metal, size of the roller chain drive etc. I know the Deere dealers have these goodies in a big fat book and I have the tech specs (about 6 pages of them) on the 48" blower for the 4100 when I was initially looking at them. I just don't want to have to run to the Dealer everytime I have a tech question.
This is a $30,000 machine with all I am getting and I plan on keeping it for life. I told a dealer I have been researching this tractor for a year now and he couldn't understand what's taking so long. I said, "if the tractors weren't so expensive and the tech specs so hard to find, I'd probably have one in my garage right now."
I have a sneaking suspicsion that the JD model is not as heavily built as the New Holland model. I've heard a lot of discussion on these boards over the past few months on hydraulic issues with JD 4xxx's Before I plop down $30,000, I want to make sure this think is going to last without a trip to the service dept. every month. If anyone has had an experience with the 59 inch front mounted snowthrower, good or bad, I'd like to hear what you have to say. Thanks in advance, you guy's (and gals) are a wealth of knowledge!
