Tebben Rotary Cutter???

Anyone ever heard of them? They are out of MN and they say they are USA made.

My neighbour has it in his yard. His brother owns an AG dealership in town. He got it late last summer. His tractor keeps snapping the shear bolt upon PTO engagement. His MF tractor has an electronic PTO engagement. My Bobcat is manual engagement w/ clutch.

His brother is willing to deal on it because it is used (a few times) and he wouldn't have to pick-up/deliver it.

It is a 60".

The nearest King Kutter that I can get is $1199 new for a 60".

I am in Canada...the land of over priced items. And of late...the stronger dollar, but still paying the higher prices.

They've got a website. Looks like they're big into trailers and such. To tell the truth, their cutters and finishing mowers look chintzy. I wouldn't be surprised if they buy they in China and market them in the US.
Never heard of them until your post though...

They say they are made in USA. He got back to me with a price. He says they retail for $1400 so because this one is used he will sell for $1150. For $1200 I can buy a NEW King Cutter.

I have a Tebbens 48" Bush Hog. It's very well built and I would recomend it. Its one extra heavier gauge of steel compared to a Woods Brush Bull, too. Shachtay Sales in Arborg, MB is an authorized dealer but as I recall there is another outfit that deals in both US and Canada, but I cannot remember their name. I bought my Tebbens and a 60" heavy duty BB at the same time. The name of the other authorized distributor starts with a "w" like Westward Ag or Western Implements. I sent an email to Tebbens just today, in fact, seeking out MB dealers as I am interested in their 72" finish mower for my new CT225. I will let you know.

Tebben is local to me. They have been around for a long time and have a pretty sound reputation here. Mostly with farmers and landscape markets IIRC. I have never owned any of their equipment....but I would not be afraid to do so. I think its fine.

I recently bought a new 60" tebben I have been running it behind my Mahindra 4035 I have had no issues with it what so ever cuts very nice. I have a 4 ft tsc cutter i run behind my Kubota bx2350 and the deck is super chincey on that thing, i am sorry i wasted my money on it.

There are quite a few Tebbens RC's seen running on farms/homesteads in this area. I have had no problems with either my 40" or 60" medium duty cutters. I believe them to be pretty solid performers compared to the "Big Name" cutters.
