Due to buckling from last years extremely high humidity and also it's the original floor (installed 1982 ) so it's shop worn and due for a change.

Question. What's the easiest way to remove the mastic. I'm afraid you're going to say there is no easy way LOL.
Is the something that can be applied to aid the stripping process?

TIA

Check with your local flooring specialists...

Heat gun and a scraper. Best if someone gets on the floor aiming the gun and another uses a long handle floor scraper - easier on the back and goes a little faster. You need lots of patience. Good luck. KW

If the heat gun doesn't work go the other way and use dry ice. I once had a job removing tiles and the heat gun would only soften portions of the tile at one time so the tiles came up in pieces. A real mess. When I switched to a large block of dry ice and a floor scraper the tiles popped up whole like large poker chips. As KW mentioned a truckload of patience will be required.

It should be on some kind of underlayment and not directly on the subfloor. Hopefully the underlayment wasn't glued. I'd take a circular saw set to the right depth to cut the underlayment but not subfloor, then take up the underlayment and parquet together in squares.
If it's not badly buckled and height is not an issue, leave the parquet and go over it with new underlayment.
Finally you could use one of the aggressive style hardwood floor refinishers. They'll tear through about 1/8" of floor at a time but it will get really wavy if you aren't careful, then you'll have a different problem to solve.

Use a roofing removal shovel. I sort of looks like a square garden spade but has a wedge so that you can lever the tiles (roofing) off.
Depending on what kind of adhesive used you can also sometimes whack here and there with a sledge and tiles will loosen..

What is under the parquet?

I had carpet that was glued to a concrete floor. When I took up the carpet the glue stayed behind. I rented a floor sander and was able to get it up without disturbing the concrete.

Concrete . My entire home is on a slab built over a hollow space. Actually a plenum for the infloor heating (hot air )system.

Rent a vibrating tile remover. It is heavy.and has a flat scraper blade that moves back and forth parallel with the floor. It will be much easier if it works for you like it worked for me.
