I am presently educating myself on compact tractors and have test driven several. I have landed on the TC45D with 16LA front loader. I, to this point, have only been able to get a price quote for this four wheel drive hydrostatic tractor at 25,500 which seems slightly high. I would like others input in regards to price. Also I note that the 3-pont hitch capacity is approximately 2330 lbs. at 24" aft and the new Agco comparable tractor is approximately 3000lbs 24" aft. Will the lower 3-pont hitch capacity be a problem? Thanks.

$25,500 does seem high. A couple of months ago, I purchased a TC45DA with the 16LA front loader and wheel weights for about $23,500.

Where are you located? Does the price you were quoted include taxes? Mine did not.

As for the lower 3-point hitch capacity, it depends on what you are using it for. I have no problem pulling a 7' Bushhog finish mower.

Gary,

First of all I want to welcome you as a new TBN member. You will get lots of information here before and after your purchase. One thing that will allow us to help you out better is to go back and fill your profile as to the area you live. Prices on tractors vary from area to area and this way the people in your area can help you with pricing.

As far as the 3 point lift capacity being low is something I would not worry about. 99% of what we all use the 3 points will be covered by the tractor your looking at. The majortiy of the implements/attachments are lighter.

Gary, for some reason New Holland thinks the TC45DA is so much better than the TC40DA that they price that tractor over $2500 more based on MSRP. That is pure bunk! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif My offer would be no more than $23,000 to $23,500 for a TC45, but actually, I'd offer $22,500 for a TC40DA and let the dealer keep the overpriced TC45DAs until they turn into rust buckets. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Thanks, that information is extremely helpful. I live in Lewiston, Idaho and am uncertain whether this is a positive or negative in regards to buying a tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Thanks for your insight. What should I expect to pay if I wanted a couple of remotes placed? I also have had some suggest calcium chloride be /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif placed in wheels and some say put on wheel weights instead, what is your opinion on that recommendation.

Gary, New Holland has recently gone up on the price of remotes. All I know is the price of the kits. What your dealer will charge for installation may vary, but on a new tractor you might get them installed for the kit prices. That would be $263 for the first remote and about $220 for #2 & #3. They are very simple to install. Flat rate is probably around 1 hour.

What you put into your tires to load them is predominantly controlled by your geographical location. If you are in a cold area, beet juice is the best liquid method with wheel weights probably being the next favorable method. I would never, ever put calcium chloride in any tire anywhere. I'm filling my tires with water and anti-freeze here in Texas. Also remember that liquid in tires gives you the best ballast because it is always in the lower portion of the tire and it doesn't load your axle like weights do. I think that's why liquid is so popular. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hey the TC45D is a great little tractor but check out the Deutz-Fahr Agrokid 40. It is a quality tractor and it specs out better. I think a new one with the loader prices out about $19,000. With 4x4.
here is a dealer site I found www.deutzsales.com

I am getting a TC40DA this weekend, and in the process got a quote on a TC45DA. Tractor and loader w/ 0% financing comes out at $23,642, after I beat them up quite a bit. For this price, they wouldn't deliver or fill the tires or any extras. The original quoted price was quite a bit higher. As a matter of fact, the orginal quoted price for the TC40DA that I did end up buying was $23,995. I got them down a long way on that price, mostly by calling around and getting competing quotes, then inquired how much to go up to the TC45DA.

This is in Western Washington. Hope this helps.

Where in Western Washington? I live on the Washington, Idaho border and could make that trip for a 2000 dollar savings. Thanks!!!
