Price Check TC45D - Need Help on Pricing

I've been quoted a price of $30,300 by a local tractor dealer in Idaho for a 2006 New Holland four wheel drive TC45D with about 6 hours on it. The tractor comes with the front end loader and a front blade. I'm mostly interested in the tractor for plowing snow. I live on a mountain and have to plow approximately 1 mile of paved private road with grades as high as 8%.

Here are my questions:
1. Is $30,300 too high a price? It seems really high to me given other prices I've seen on the Internet for the exact same tractor.

2. Is 45 hp enough power to plow snow while going uphill? I'm assuming that it is.

One last thing. After getting a quoted price of $30,300 I asked the salesman what the discount would be for a cash deal. The discount was $200 (or $30,100). I was astounded since I was expecting something in the neighborhood of a $3,000 to $4,000 discount. I don't think the dealer understands the time value of money - especially since I can use their 0% for three years payment option as an alternative.

The price seems high to me. I would expect ot get that package for around 23k down here. I could've got the FEL on my 45da and paid just over 30k.

As for the power? I'm sure someone thats knows for sure will chme in shortly.

I don't know what a front blade costs, but that whole deal would have me lookin' somewhere else. I'd expect the tractor and loader to be about $24k. I can't imagine the front blade being worth $6300. Are you sure the tractor doesn't also have a backhoe? It doesn't have a cab does it? I'd run from those prices...

The TC45DA has plenty of power to plow snow going uphill. In low range, you'll have lots of power. I woudn't suggest doing it in high range, but high-turtle might work on level ground in shallow snow. You might consider chains. I figure traction will be the issue rather than power.

You should be paying mid to low 20's for this. I'd look elsewhere, unless you can talk the dealer down to the right price.

Does anyone have an idea how much of a discount (percentage-wise) I should be looking at with an all-cash deal? The dealer is current offering me a extremely paltry 0.6% discount, which is pretty terrible since the "risk-free rate of return" on a 3-month Treasury Bill is 4.6%. My discount expectation, given my finance background, would be in the neighborhood of 3.5% to 4%. I'd be interested in knowing what others got for a discount if they paid all-cash.

You are not being ripped off until you pay his prices.

Discounts form MSRP in the 10% to 15% range are common. 20% discounts are usually reserved for big accounts with multiple tractors.

What kind of rear blade is worth $1900? Does it have hydraulics? That price seems also very inflated to me.

This dealer has too much business. You need to take yours somewhere else.

The blade price sounds like a front blade for the loader. That's in line with the prices I received.
The complete price is higher than I paid for a new DX55, EHSS, loader, brush guard, rear remotes, etc.
The TC45D is gear isn't it? I'd look elseware.

I'd expect to pay that much for a used TC45 WITH a cab, without as you say, maybe mid-20's

TC45 gear has enough ummph to move big snow. TC45 hydro probably doesn't
What altitude are you at? (idaho has quite a variation), that makes a HUGE difference in power, esp. on smaller non-turbo tractors.

Oh, and cash won't do much. Just like a car dealer, the dealer sells the loan immediately or doesn't actually do the finance part of the deal.
They don't care, they make the same money.
It makes it easier to do the deal (no worries about finanace) but to them, same amount of money.
