New Holland TC45D
I just purchased a 2002 TC45D. The tractor has a fair number of hours on it (2300) but seems to be in very good condition. My question is about the hydro fluid. I know it's due for a filter change but I'm thinking I should replace the fluid also. It looks clear and clean at the dipstick but does have a bit of a burned odor. If I need to change it, I would appreciate any hints and tips on the proper procedure. The operators manual shows two drain plugs but there is also what apprears to be a plug where the front wheel drive shaft exits the trany. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I use the synthetic hydraulic oil to up the interval.

What kind of oil does everyone use? Or if I were to change to synthetic what brand and viscosity would be a good choice?
