Does anyone know the exact location of the starter relay switch on a 2006 TC45A? The solenoid on the starter makes a clicking sound when I try to start it. I’ve done multiple tests trying to find the problem. These include replacing the starter and ignition switch, neither of which solved the problem. On the advice of someone else I disconnected the OEM wire from the spade on the solenoid and ran a jump wire from the spade to the positive battery terminal. I touched the wire to post over a dozen times and the starter engaged. Unplugged the jump wire from the spade and plugged the OEM wire back in and got the the solenoid clicking sound. I repeated this entire process three times with the same end result….except it did start one time but any successive attempts resulted in the solenoid clicking. I’m told that it’s a low voltage issue from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid. If that’s the problem is there a starter relay switch that’s bad or is something else? Thanks in advance for any advice.

With that particular problem I'd charge the battery then have it load tested. I'd clean the battery terminals and the connectors. Replace the connectors onto the terminals then tighten securely. If they can be moved they're not secure. follow the ground wire to the frame. Clean and tighten. I'd start troubleshooting from there.

You do not even have to change the battery, if you have long arms and a voltmeter. Or someone to try to start the tractor when you are measuring battery voltage.

If battery voltage drops significantly when you try to start and get the click, you battery is the issue. Simple as that.

If the click happens, but the battery voltage remains normal, you likely have an issue with the safety circuit that activates the starter solenoid when the key is turned to start. Some tractors develop resistance in the safety circuit switch contacts. Net result is when it gets bad enough, the starter clicks but does not engage.

Edit: there is also the possibility that you have a bad connection to the frame for the negative side of the battery. This might be the first thing to check if the battery voltage stays up when you try to start and get the clicking sound.
