I have a picture of the first remote installed that is probably best for what you want. The tractor comes with a blank plate installed on the right side of the differential case. That plate is removed and the remote valve and lever are installed. The plate is then installed on the outside of the remote valve. Additional valves (up to 3 total) are installed on the outside of the first valve. There are different levers for the gear and hydro transmission tractors, but the remote and plumbing is the same.
I don't encourage what you are describing. I think you will spend far more money than the NH kit. Also, your installation will not be as clean as the NH kit which is a very nice installation that is easy to do. I bought mine when the kits were much cheaper, but I still don't believe you can beat the price and functionality of the kit for around $500 each. I really like my remotes and cannot imagine not having them.
