Since this site has been such a help to me over the last few months as I researched out my tractor purchase, I wanted to give back to it by sharing how my purchase went and what I ended up with.

I contacted 5 dealers, faxing the same requests to all of the them and ending my request with the note: I am looking for the very lowest price you must have and still be able to make a sale with me. Prices came in all over the board. 3 dealers at least expressed an interest in dealing with me. 2 were more or less "out to lunch". Originally I was looking for a new purchase, but one dealer I was at had a TC40D on the lot with 18 hours on it and wanted to move it badly. It was in excellent condition. Apparently a lady bought it to mow with but later traded it in desiring a smaller tractor.
The tractor did not have a loader on it, but it did have rear hydraulic service and supersteer. I wanted the loader. The dealer added the loader along with the hydraulic hookups for it. They also wired in 2 rear facing work lights and 2 forward facing worklights. The forward were mounted on the underside of the top of ROPS. The rear facing lights were mounted on the outside sides of the ROPS. See the tractorbynet thread regarding these details. It was of great help and assistance to me and the dealer on how to do it. We followed it's details to the letter.

So, 2000 model TC40D, 18 hrs 4 wheel drive supersteer, R4 tires, 4 lights wired/installed, hydrostatic transmission, new 17LA loader with 72" HD bucket, grille guard, oil filter and change of oil, 1 year warranty, 4 rear wheel weights, single lever joystick for loader, a complete set of the TC40D service manuals, which are extensive - comprising 3 volumes.
Total: $19,357.00 no tax.
I live in Minnesota. So I also purchased an Erskine rear mounted snowblower. Erskine is now a division of Bobcat. They have discontinued their rear mounted line of blowers and are now focusing on front mounted only to serve their parent company needs. I got one of the last rear mounted ones.
780R 78" wide 3 pt snowblower with hydraulic chute rotation and 1-3x8 cylinder with hoses and standard skid shoes, 2450.00 no tax
I spent alot of time on the snowblower decision. Farm King is the big seller around here and is cheapest. I wanted one with 4 blades in the box, heavy duty chains and more heavy duty construction. I looked a Pronovost and Loftness also. Loftness Mfg is about 40 miles from where I live. They make all the blowers sold under the New Holland name plus their own line. They are the top of the line in construction and in price. Pronovost is right behind them but their presence here is small and the dealer was farther away. They lost my sale due to making me feel that my purchase was not important to them. My purchase to them would be like buying a tootsie roll would be to me! I settled on the middle. Time will tell if I have made the best decision. Thanks to all for the help they gave through the various threads!
