We were towing the trailer around cleaning up brush. Turned a little too sharp & trashed the emergency brake box on the trailer. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Looks like the drawbar might be adjustable, but we ran out of time to crawl under and mess around. Operators manual didn't mention anything.

So, to satisfy my curiosity, is it adjustable, and what tools (if any) do I need?

Hazmat, you can adjust the length of the swinging drawbar by 4-6 inches. All you need is an adjustable wrench. When you get under the tractor, you'll see the bolt to remove and reposition the drawbar. Mine was all the way out and if the front of my rotary cutter lifted slightly, the blade hit the end of the drawbar. I have a permanent "tatoo" about 1/4" deep in the end of my drawbar. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif What are the lyrics to that old song? "...if the left doesn't get you then the right one will." Sorry to hear about your brake box. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

EDIT: My OM says the drawbar length is 14" from the end of the PTO splined shaft to the end of the drawbar. I believe that is the maximum length. You might check that measurement. If it's already that long, you probably can't make it any longer.

It's shorter than 14". I guess we'll stretch it out for trailer use, and shorten it up when using the three point...

Thanks!

We had a case where our brush hog contacted our draw-bar also so we made a slight modification to ours. We welded a receiver tube on the draw-bar itself. Now we keep the draw-bar retracted as far as possible and simply slide in one of many different hitch attachments that we have made using 2 X 2 x 1/4 inch square tube when we need to pull or move a trailer. It works well for us.

Also notice the rear pin that can be quickly removed without getting under the tractor to remove the whole draw-bar from the tractor itself.

If santa brings me the welder I asked for, I think that just might be the first project. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Don't you just love Christmas. It's always a good reason to get more tools! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

And when you get that Christmas tool, use it right away, even if you don't really need to. After using it, brag on how easy it made your job. That way you'll ensure tools stay at the top of the list for future gifting opportunities. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
