TC35DA GITTIN ER DONE!!

After posting back in February about trading the ole 4000 gas for a 35 DA, I wanted to touch base and share my thoughts about the investment. Took a while to get the feel of this tractor taming hills pulling a box blade or double roller Gill. It handles ,turns and pulls and pushes a lot of dirt when I hit job sites. It`s so nice to load and unload from the 22 ` gooseneck compared to the old gas tractor. Also rolling down the highway with loader, pulverizer and boxblade its comfortable to trailer. Really like the way the brakes lock on hills (I still drop the implement) when I have to dismount . Discovered a 12V DC plug behind the seat a week or so ago. This tractor is obviously built and designed for work. My neighbor liked it so much he went and bought exactly the same unit. The loader is amazing how quick I can move a tandem load of dirt where it needs to be ,then quickly smooth er out with the pulverizer. The T4 tires pull very good and are easy on lawns when having to be on them. The front tires don`t tear even when you crank it all the way to make a tight turn. In short, what a nice tractor with ,as far as I`m concerned, better looks than the competition, gutzy, beefy little three cylinder Subourah loves to work all day. At first I didn`t like the diesel tank in eye shot of my implements but now I appreciate the location simply because I`m not cooking my fuel directly over the mill(also I`m lead to believe cool fuel makes more ponys),correct me if I`m mistakin. I do have a question for the veteran owners , I don`t like running high RPM`s, I prefer feathering the hydros to keep my RPM`s at about 18 to 2000 (less bouncy when changing directions....) Like my Cummins this motor doesn`t seem to resist lugging (within reason I might add). Regards , Mark

I share the same experience you have with mt TC-35D. I love mine.... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I generally run around 1700 RPM traveling around the yard. Backhoe work gets the 2100 RPM mark. I will go up to 2300 when I'm really pushing the FEL into hard dirt. And what really amazes me is the engine just "sips" the diesel fuel. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It sounds like your jobs and your tractor are a good match. It's really easy to get used to good equipment isn't it? You spend your time getting work done rather than fixing a tractor or doing work-arounds. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hi GOM,

I'm with you on the RPM.

I choose the RPM with my ear and the seat of my pants, not the tach. I run my engine at the lowest RPM that gets the job done efficiently and comfortably. Since my tractor is a gear tractor, I do my FEL work at ~1600 RPM. Any higher and it would disjoint my creaky old neck. Even bush hogging I keep it to a maximum of 1900 RPM, mainly because my tractor didn't come with springs and shocks. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Also, logic tells you that if something sounds like it's destroying itself, it probably is (albeit at a very low rate). Regardless of what the "book" says, if an engine sounds very unhappy at a certain RPM and much happier at 100 RPM lower, well DUH? With a little intelligent feathering (in my case shifting) I think you can make an engine last longer, save fuel, and eliminate a lot of noise and vibration.

Re: TC35DA GITTIN ER DONE!!

GOM; I'm not a fan of running anything flat out myself. I've found when doing dirt work, the machine operates best between 1700-1850 rpms. By using the dual power feature on the joystick in low range on the main, I can run into a pile in turtle, reverse direction and hit rabbit, to get going a little faster. With practice you can get pretty smooth at this, and your not making the engine scream. I look for a power curve chart in the owners manual, but didn't find one. I maybe wrong, but it feels like I'm operating in the upper power curve at those rpm's. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: TC35DA GITTIN ER DONE!!

Good to know I`m on the same page with working RPM`s. I had always heard somewhere NOT to lug a diesel . Of course I don`t run it down to a stall but it has tremendous power and like mentioned above it sips the fuel which makes for an unbelievable amount of work on a tank. I`m in the process of looking into a mirror to mount in order to save my neck from having to look back as much as forward. I`ve had to doer the hard way so many years tackling projects now is a joy with this little bruin. Was grading a month ago on a busy street when school let out. The kids of all ages were trailing by and really took an interest in watching me finish grade. I heard one girl (they were rambunctous, supposedly a bad part of town) yell " Hey, thats a cool azzed tractor!! " . I thought it was funny. On another job we were finishing after showing up to a huge mess for a job we had it down to a putting green after four hours, the construction crew across the street all sat down with their beers and watched me put the last touches on a new lawn. Bottom line, I am thankful my local dealer steered me ,for a little more money, into the 35 DA . My heart was set on a TC 30 and was pricing different dealers when this guy says`, you may as well get into this one for X amount more. For the price I paid ,for the money they gave me for ole Fred, it was a no-brainer. Next will be a nice set of adjustable forks. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Mark
