Should I go with the 33 in a smaller tractor or step up 2hp and get the bigger body style? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Have 10-12 ac in hilly, slopey rocky pasture so will be using mostly a 60' Woods/Bushhog rear cutter
Thanks

captain, I have a 33 gear that has plenty of power for my 72" finish mower. I mow nearly 7 acres, about a third of it is on the side of a hill. If your hills and slopes are steep enough, I think you'd feel more comfortable on the 35 with it's wider wheelbase. I'm more impressed every day with the power my tractor has, for it's size ! But the class III's are a whole different animal.

Have a tc33da, looked at getting a 40 or 45 when I was shopping but decided that the 33 fitted my uses better than the larger framed tractors. Look at your planed usage and decides which size is better. The 33 will handle the mower just fine, even a 6ft would be no problem. Be sure to add a loader and canope to your tractor, extras, but worth it. Plan on putting up a fence later? Add rear remotes for post hole digger and other things. And for hilly ground - you must get the 4 wheel drive.
As far as the 35, I've heard that it seems a little under powered for the size of the machine, go for the 40 or 45.

In the Owning/Operating section, there is a thread where someone was looking for a 2 piece wheel for the TC30. It ends up that the 30 shares the same wheel as the 33.

Only the 35 and above will allow the wheels to be widened to add stability.

Not sure if this is a concern, depends on how much slope you are talking about.

There are many features that come along with the Class III Boomers other than a few more horsepower.

Maurice just noted one of them with the fully adjustable wheels. Another is the layout of the operator's platform with the brakes on the left and the hydro-pedals on the right. T

he joystick with the built-in rabbit/turtle hydro speed change is an amazingly useful feature. I know it's just a switch, but it's a switch that's exactly where I need it.

I also like the hydraulic lift capabilities and extra loader power of the Class IIIs.

You should really operate both tractors and see which fits you best. Some folks find the size of the Class IIIs to be intimidating, especially if they plan to use it for finish mowing.

You don't need a Class III Boomer for just running a rotary cutter on your property. A Class II will do that just fine. If and when you add on other tasks, you just might find the additional size to be worth the money. Only you can make that decision.
