What should be a reasonable difference in price between the TC35D and the TC40D. I have heard so much that the frame on the TC35D is too large for the hp. I have 10 acres of finish mowing and 1 mile of driveway to tend to. I was quoted a TC35D w/6'finishing rear discharge mower, a 6' box blade, and a front loader for $21,075.00. Is this a deal or could I go into the TC40D for this price w/attatchments.
Thank You
Joe

I purchased a TC35D in the fall of 02 and I love it, however for the difference in price if I had to do it all over again, I would go with the TC40D. The added HP is worth it. The super steer is great but takes some getting used to. Your price is in the ballpark.Good Luck

I've got a 35D w/ 84" MMM and this is one
great mowing machine.
Far superior to the old Kubota & 72" woods RFM.
The SS and 2 speed cruise are a lot of help.
After weekly mower removal ,I've got it down to
less than 5 min. to install or remove.
W/ this size tractor it has lots of clearance when
locked up.
If dealer had a 40D I would have got it.
No substitute for HP.
If u opt for RFM I would go 84" or 90" RFM
My boss has a 84" land pride RFM rear discharge
and really likes it.

Joseph,
I orginally looked at a tc33d but didn't like the pedal arrangement. Then looked to a 35/40. Bought a tc40d w/ss, loader, 3 sets of wheel weights, block heater, grill guard, and an arm rest kit for $21,500. Remember the the 40/45 tractors has a higher lift capacity in both the loader and 3 point.

Joe,
It's your money. I don't run a finish mower with my TC 35, but I do have about 20 acres of rough field to bush hog and another where I am working back the brush (up to about 1 1/2" diameter). I have used it to pull the butts of 12 inch trees out of hang ups and push old brush piles around with impunity. My TC 35 hasn't been challenged by any of this yet. I am sure one can always use more horsepower, but I haven't needed it so far. If a box blade made any sense in the shale around here, I might feel differently. Good luck whatever you do...either tractor is powerful enough to get you into some real trouble (visit the Safety forum!).

When I was pricing about a year and a half ago, I was quoted $20,870 for a TC35D w/FEL and $21,550 for the TC40D w/FEL. This was before any negotiations on my part. I ended up with the TC33D, due to the need to maneuver through some tight spaces in my woods. If I had gone for the larger frame, I would have gotten the TC40D without hesitation. The difference in price is a small percentage of the total.

I think you'll find there is a $1,200 to $1,500 difference in the price of a 35D vs a 40D.

I think it depends on what is on the dealers lot
and how many he has.
I would have had to pay a lot more to get a 40D
ordered, he had 35Ds on the lot and wanted to deal.
Look at different dealers and get quotes.

OOPS! That should have been $20,170 for a TC35D w/FEL and loaded R4 tires and $21,550 for the TC40D (similarly equipped). For a difference of $1,380.

Sorry, I added wrong in my earlier post.
