TC35 fan belt from Napa doesn't fit?

So I was brush hogging the other day and a stick poped the fan belt off an shredded it. I called the local Napa autoparts and they had a listing for it.
The part number is PBH 17370. I decided to buy 2 to have a spare.

When I tried to put it on it wasn't even close and there is no way it wouls have worked. Anyone know why that would be? I looked at a few other models and they use the same part number. ie. TC40.

Is this just an error on their part? Does anyone have a x-ref from the NH part number to a napa number?

measure your belt circumference with a piece of half inch rope, do it with adjustment in the middle.. take that in.. napa or carquest should be able to get you a belt that length, and then specify width and belt type.

though I am surprised.. napa's ag application chart has come thru for me on many occasions.. same with carquest.. just got a belt for a 57' 950 ford from them.. fit like a glove..

Is it metric or sae?

I've never had problems getting the correct belts for other equipment but this one wasn't even close.

I just noticed that the 2003 TC35 has a different part number. Mine is supposed to be an 04 but I wonder if some of them still had the 03 belt.

I'm going to see if they have them both and compare them side by side and see if the 03 belt is a little larger.

I returned the belt and checked the 03 part number but that was even smaller. He said he had the next size up I could try and that seems to be perfect.

I guess Napa's part number is wrong in this case.

does the pn ont he belt match the cardboard sleave it was in.. seen them swapped before..

Thats the first thing I checked. I was hoping that was the case.

I even found this site that allowed me to use the NH part# to xref to Napa and it showed the same one they gave me. But there is a premium version that I compared in the store and it slightly larger.

u have to watch it cause i have got three belts from napa all was supposed to be the same lenght just different materails and there was up to three inches different in the belt for some reason and was supposed to fit a woods finishing mower

I have to agree. Sometimes a single trip to the NH dealer ensures the right part and is cheaper than multiple trips to NAPA; especially for part replacement instead of a consumable like filters/oil/grease. I just researched filters and prices for my NH LB75.B and found that the filters from the NH dealer are cheaper than from 3rd party vendors selling Wix filters. I won't even bother looking anywhere else unless it's an emergency.

EDIT: The one problem I have with the NH dealer is hours of operation. It sure is convenient to find a NAPA, TSC, or other store open in the evening or weekends when the dealership is closed up tight. With planning, this can be overcome, but this website is populated with a lot of folks who only get to use their tractors on weekends when the dealerships are closed. It can be a problem.
